Subject: Looking for Mariner 31 or 32

If anyone knows where a Mariner ketch might be available, on the Atlantic or Gulf coasts, I'd appreciate a heads up. Would like to find one that is a project that I could work on at my pace. Thanks.

Carl

I know of one it's a 31' in sad shape. It's at the sub base in groton,Ct. if intrested I can find out the owner. I looked at it with the owner years ago. Hull is solid but the deck is in need of help. It's not a total lost cause. Take care,Jake.

I would have determine if this boat would be worth the expense involved to get it here (VA) and do the repairs; so if it still had masts, etc, and if they were in decent shape... I'd welcome the chance to speak with the owner. Thanks.

Sorry, I've seen the mast on the rack for the longest time, but they recently cut them up. Still interested?

Without masts and that far away, it may be best for me to pass on this one. Thank you very much for answering my post.

I have a perfectly good mizzen, spreaders, and booms for both masts. Very reasonable.

Hey Carl, would you consider a M40 ? I just saw this one on ebay. I think he has a blog of the work to this point. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-Mariner-40-Ketch-Project-Boat-/160667059984?pt=Sailboats&hash=item256880c710
Good Luck

I saw the 40 listed on Ebay last night. A 40 is too big for me. I need something that I can single hand and the 31 or 32 will fit that requirement. Unfortunately, the 40 won't. Thanks for thinking of me and posting.

The sad shape mariner is probably going to be free. I'm talking to the sub base marina thurseday. If you want it all you have to do is remove it. I'm getting more imformation on it. I'll also take some photos. It's in sad shape alot of work to bring back. Hull is solid, but deck is rotten. Let me know if interested. Thanks,Jake.

Jake,

I have found another boat. Please do not bother to take pics, etc for me. I appreciate your assistance. That goes for all others who tried to help me find a Mariner. I didn't find a Mariner, but I did find a vessel that will be good for me. Thanks again, everyone.

It's sad hear that one of ours might have sailed her last voyage. I hope someone with a dream and some determination steps up in time. Any chance that us fellow Mariners might be able to buy some spare parts, if they're really going to trash her?
