Subject: clipper bow

I am shopping for a Mariner 31 Ketch. Looking at the photos posted by current owners, I find no logic as to which hulls have clipper bows (which I prefer) an which hulls do not. Were these boats built-to-order, with each owner choosing his preferred bow style, or was there something else going on then that I have missed? Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
