Subject: Mariner 31 ballast

What material is the ballast for the Mariner 31, iron or lead?
Many thanks for any information about the ballast in this boat.

I believe the "made in Japan Mariners" have fully encapsulated pig iron ballast. It is encapsulated in epoxy resin and capped with fiberglass.
