Hello Stephen,

I own a M31, #62, and although I didn't have any calipers when measuring the diameter of wheel shaft it looks to be metric.
The diameter measured 31/32" or 24.6mm with a measuring tape.
The keyway also appears to be metric measuring 7/32" or 5.556mm wide by 1/8" deep.
Hope this helps

Let me know if you decide to get rid of your old wheel.

I often thought of adding a ring, I've seen nice looking ones made out of bamboo, or laminated.
