Subject: M36 H#10 1973, are the bilges conected

My bilge access is covered by water tanks. My bilges are not connected so I have to pump the water from the bilge by the head, and again the bilge between the main cabin into the main bilge. Are others' bilges connected or can I connect them with a hole? anyone run across this? Thanks in advance, David

We have a 1972-40, we also have tanks in same location, (black water tank, then sump area, then grey water tank then sump area then the main water tanks)however, we have limber holes under all of the tanks to drain the water aft to the main bilge area. Are you sure that they are not there. Are the tanks original? Did you try probing with a coat hanger to see if they are clogged. If the tanks are original its hard to believe that they did not allow for drainage... Putting in limber holes after the fact is going to be difficult. Good Luck
