rig info -- Tim Mertinooke, - Thursday - 12/31/09 - 1:15pm
I found the thread fro the Fuji Forum:
http://www.fujiyachts.net/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=636&p=2378&hilit=cutter+mast#p2378
It appears as though the Fuji 32 Ketch had the mast in the same position as the sloop. From a construction standpoint, I imagine it would have been easier to do it that way and then just beef up the cockpit sole of the ketch to handle the mizzen mast compression. To compensate, I think the mizzen mast of the fuji is farther aft. I wonder if the distance between the two masts is the same as those on the mariner and what effect it might have on the sailing performance if the rig is more aft. it looks like we ned to do a little comparison sailing to find out ;)
