After 3 years and lots of work, still tons to do, we motored down the CT river on Sunday and into the sound. We headed West after the jetty at the mouth of the river, we slowly raised the mizzen, then the Genoa. We had some issues with the Main which I will fix this weekend, but there was enough wind to move us along. I was really surprised how well she moved under just Mizzen and Genoa. It was unbelivable!!!! We will pull her at the end of the month, but next summer look out. What a great boat the 40 is.

We will post more pics soon of her under sail.

Mike and Paula,

That's awesome. Major congrats on nearing completion--or completion enough to sail!!!

It takes a lot of guts and imagination to keep pushing for that long. Your sail was well deserved.

Here's to many more in Tivoli!

Let me add my hearty congratulations, Mike, to you and Paula and Tivoli. Best wishes for many happy sails.

And, oh yes, a Mariner 40 clips along just fine in a breeze and balances well with just the "jib and jigger."

We had Carol Hasse, owner of Port Townsend Sails, on board last weekend, for a brisk sail. She also measured Ta' Ata Ori for new sails for next season. Wanna race?

We're hauling TAO next week, for a full bottom job and other upgrades. Perhaps a new main mast is in the offing -- we'll see, after a full inspection by a wooden boat expert this coming weekend.

Happy sailing.

Yeah Tivoli will be pulled in two weeks and put away for the Winter. Next summer will be fun. Thanks again for all of your pics, they were a tremendous help. I dont think Im ready to race her yet, but she does handle cocktails in the cockpit very well.

[> Tivoli - under sail -- Kathy Campbell SHADOW M32-#3, - Saturday - 10/ 6/07 - 12:03am

Congratulations Tivoli,
You picked two worthy owners to take care of you, and I know you will take your crew on many unforgettable journeys. All of us Mariner owners would love to see pictures of you under sail. You will be beautiful, just like that other beautiful Mariner 40 - Ta Ata Ori. I hope the main mast will be repairable on Ta Ata Ori.
Safe Harbors, Kathy

It must feel wonderful to be sailing after so long. I only hope to have mine in the water this next summer. Pictures would be much appreciated.
