Subject: perkins 4-107 used parts/boneyard

Hello all again, Is there anyone out there who knows of any old 4-107s that are available for parts in the pacific NW? I just did my first 5 d in a row motoring event and, upon return, find that the bracket that holds the oil filter and temp or pressure sensor cracked on the port side and must be welded. I have a mig and will do it in the am. However It'd be good to know of one or two 4-107 carcases (sp) that I could go to to get a used replacment part in the future. Perkins new stuff seems to have Porsche like prices. When I needed to add an overflow tank to the coolent system the cost of a new, updated radiator cap and flange that it sits on on the coolant tank was about 130!!! 50$ coolant cap? sure it's a boat. I t all works well now and never a drop into the bilge. Another, BTW perkins question: Does anyone else have a prob with the oil dipstick guide pipe not fit well into the block and thus come out when you pull the dipstick to check the oil? How do I fix this. I have some ideas, but experience is always a good teacher.. I will be posting new pics of the blue sneech soon. There are many mariners here in the Portland area who are not on this web site. A few are pristine on drive by, some are scary. If any one knows of one with green canvas, M36 "catspaw" in Multanoma Channel drop me a line.
Thanks for all,
Marcus

Should be lots of parts around. My 107 was rebuilt in April. It has a completly seperate oil filter mounted on the bulkhead not on the engine, that makes it hang in the proper position instead of upside down.
The guy who rebuilt it was top notch. On time, worked with the yard, calls to see how things are going. Also put a 12V fuel pump on to make priming a breeze.
Wish I could attatch some photos. Some one tell me how??
Doug.
