Hey to the smash-a-fascist guy, It's silly and sad that while attempting to "stand up for what you believe" that you simultaneously remain anonymous. I have an idea. Rather than fear being confronted at a show for revealing your identity, why don't you describe the alleged threatening situation with a little detail. What was said? Did anyone touch anyone else? Was there an explicit or implicit threat of violence, or was innuendo and imagined intimidation more like it? What was the situation that led up to the scary skinhead pickin on your friend? See? There are myriad ways that you can voice your concern and vent your frustation without resorting to the same old tired whah, a fascist, sniff, my safety, converse, blah,blah,blah...I take offense to people from outside the scene (like cops) policing us. We should be responsible for policing ourselves. If you want any support, you are going to have to brace yourself, and figure out a more telling way to get your point across. There are those in the scene that may lend you a concerned ear and try and help diffuse a percieved situation. Or-worse case scenario-you and your scared friends are not able to stand because you don't yet know where you stand. Have you ever been to a show that was crashed by a bunch of non-skins or punks? I have. I can assure you that in a situation like that if you didn't high-tail it out of there at the first sign of trouble, then you'd be lookin for those "fascists" to help get your ass out of a sling.
