Subject: Cutting characters

As a former Ally and current Boston Public watcher, I wonder if it isn't just park of DEK's plan to rotate cast members out and replace them. This bugs me. I tend to watch shows that have characters that I know and am interested in seeing what happens to them. I find it hard to believe that so many actors are choosing to leave well-performing shows. I suppose you could argue that it's more realistic this way...people do come and go, especially on a school faculty. But this is TV...if I want reality, I'll go to my school and observe fellow teachers. Thoughts?

My favorite characters disappearing from Ally ultimately led me to stop watching and it will probably happen with Boston Public too. Does he do this on The Practice as well? I've never watched it.
