I don't know how old you are but here's some advice. Don't ever become a teacher if you want an easy job. I have been a teacher for 18 years. I teach 7hours a day 185 days a year. During the summer I also work (luckily a job with kids) so I can make ends meet. I must also take courses to keep my certification up to date. I stay after to help students almost daily. I start 1/2 hour early to work with a group I do not have time for during the day. I make 40,000.00 a school year supplementing that income with second jobs and summer work. I work with students who are wonderful and hard workers and some who are rude, disrespectful and have no integrity. But I love this work and I will defend it to the hilt.

Boston Public exaggerates many of its story lines but the hard work of those teachers is not an exaggeration with most honest educators in this country.
