Subject: Let's try this again: Did Guber overreact?

No and yes. His reaction was completely within his character. When he gets upset about something, it consumes him (Remember the stare he gave Harry in the first episode this season? Good thing Harry didn't see it...). He often overreacts. And Steven often underreacts. That's why they make a good team.

He thought he was coming to see a rehearsal of Our Town, not It's Our Town Too. He felt there was a lot riding on the production (funding-wise) and was caught completely off guard. And he thought he had been tricked.

That said, I don't think Mr. Harris intended to trick anyone. He was too calm when Scott sat down next to him for someone who was supposedly pulling a fast one. I'm guessing it was a huge misunderstanding.

What I find hard to believe is that the play had been in rehearsal for six weeks (according to Steven), and we are supposed to believe that no one sat in on a rehearsal before then, and that none of the students in the play talked to any other students. Because if they had this would definitely have been a topic of discussion in the halls before Scott happened into the theater.

Also, does anyone else find it hard to believe that a science teacher would be directing the school play?

Hope we can get this going again...
