I remember a pair of snow boots in the display window at the store when I was about 6 years old. Showing them to my mother and wanting them so badly. They were beautiful and I really, really wanted them.
Cristmas came, and I opened the box...and began crying. I was so disappointed!
They were white snow boots with white fur around the cuff. What my mother didn't know, is that the reason I loved them so much......in the store widnow, they had glitter all over and shined so beautifully! But the glitter was only for display and mine were only regular boots. Took me a long time to get over the trauma.
"All that glitters is not gold", eh?
