Want to enter the advertising field

Hello, i will graduate after 17/5 and i want ti enter into the advertising field. However, my major is finance and my minor is marketing and it seems that i don't have the ability to enter this field as a copywriter or art director. Can anyone tell me what i should do???or take any course that is related to design or advertising??

Michael,

文案並無限制入職者的修讀科目,中文英文翻譯哲學化學都有,最主要是你的中文寫作能力有多強,當然創意,組織分析能力等等都很重要.整體來說,文案需要一個思考靈活,又能活用中文表達的人.

至於美指,通常是在理大或IVE設計系畢業的,因美指需要熟練的繪圖排版能力,但最重要的,還是過人的美術觸覺和創意.一般人(尤其香港人)對美術的感覺不夠敏銳,頂多是跟跟潮流,離當美指的要求很遠.

在我認識的美指中,也有不是設計系畢業的.你是經濟系的學生,相信你需要一些有力的證據來展示你的能力.但是文案與美指的工作性質不盡相同,你究竟是希望進入廣告業呢?還是專注於一個職位呢?

其實一直都有許多人詢問有關入行的方法,但通常他們對這行業的認識甚少,只是憑著一腔對廣告的憧憬和熱誠.希望Michael可以先多認識行業本身的運作,前景和工作環境(廣告學堂會幫到你),再考慮自身的能力,最後才決定入行與否,或是投報哪個職位.

不過,現今的經濟仍是一池死水,找工作不容易,假若未能於畢業後即時投身廣告業,不妨先試試在其他行業發展,累積社會經驗,在往後的日子再投身也未嘗不可.
