Anyone who posts that they have a top of a line pup from this woman is lying or a family member/friend of hers. Google her name and read all about it. Sick, diseased, dying, deformed pups are the norm with Robin. Spent 3000 and got a pup with pneumonia/kennel cough/coccidia all diagnosed within a day and a half of receiving him. treatment costed thousands to save him and this breeder takes responsibility for NOTHING. Her guarantee is worthless and her pups are not papered. Not champion sired not AKC, some even proven to be mixes. Do NOT give this woman any money. it will be a horrible mistake for you and your family.

Been there personally about three weeks ago. The smell was incredible she had two yorkies...to bulldogs and a chihuahua she wanted to sell me a yorkie for 1000 cash, he looked terrible..she claimed he was 4 weeks old...instead of being brown and black or brown and blue as they say when describing a yorkie he was brown and silver all over..he could barely open his eyes and he looked frail..i asked about the other healthier pup and she told me she was trying to get 3000 for him...and he certainly didn't seem to have champion bloodlines...no paper work or anything... i asked to use the restroom and she said a bitch was whelping in the bathroom!! She asked me if i wanted to hold the yorkie i said no then she said "isn't he cute?" I looked at my wife and took off so fast she didn't even have a chance to close the door. Don't do it... don't even THINK about buying a pup from this woman..the dogs are kept in rubbermaid bins. Five pups to each bin on some newspaper...no nutrical vitamins, no toys no nothing...it's scandalous. .. just straight up scandalous she was on the channel 5 news...SHAME ON YOU!!!

Robin Schulder is the biggest scam artist and con!! Please, please, if you love dogs/puppies, do NOT purchase a dog from her - she is renowned for stealing pictures off other breeders websites, advertising the dogs as her own, and then when you ask about the pup in the picture, she either says it's been sold, or you get shipped a different dog!! I know - she stole pictures off the site of the breeder I got my gorgeous bulldog from - she had my dogs pictures on her website, saying the pup is 8 weeks old and female, and HE was living with me and already 9 months old!

The only way to stop this beastly woman with no morals or remorse, is to ensure that she is unable to sell dogs to anyone!!

Just to prove the point even further - Robin somehow managed to acquire my email address (not too difficult really) and sent me an email entitled "This is a legal warning letter" - hahaha!
Here for your reading pleasure is the copy :

"You had better remove and retract what you have said about me on many of the internet forums and posts if they are not removed by Monday March 16, 2009 You will be getting served with legal papers to appear in Supreme Court on slander libel and deformation (no I didn't spell tht incorrectly, that's Robin's fantastic grasp of the English language folks!) of character and loss of wages and business sales, I have your name and your address through your IP address and my attorney will be filling (there we go again with that great English spelling!!) and you will be served you have til Monday to remove all that you have placed about Robin Schulder on line."

Please join me in my quest to ensure that this terrible woman, Robin Schulder is NEVER able to sell sick helpless puppies to unsuspecting families and individuals ever again. If you have purchased a sick puppy from Robin Schulder, if you know of someone who has had a bad experience with this woman, please, please, take the time to blog about it, add a DO NOT BUY to your Facebook page, add the Fox 5 Shame, shame, shame link to your social networking sites,http://www.myfoxny.com/subindex/news/shame

Join the many, many forums on the internet, and add your comments - the more of us who band together, the less likely this monster is to ever have the opportunity of inflicting herself and her cons on anyone ever again. If you have ever sold puppies to Robin Schulder, I implore you, please, do not do business with this woman, please don't sell her puppies or any animals - we need to ensure that her business is shut down and animals are protected!!

>ROBIN SCHULDER OF BULLDOGSRUS.NET GREAT BREEDER
>WONDERFUL EXTRA BULLY WRINKLED PUPPIES GO TO
>WWW.BULLDOGSRUS.NET
To make a long story short. I purchased a puppy from Robin Schulder back in February and she wasn't right. I bought her to the vet and she had a parasite okay took the meds but after two more weeks still didnt seem write bought her back to vet still something in stool not right back on medication. She started getting a little better but never acted like a NORMAL PUPPY. sHE WAS ALWAYS LETHARGIC AND never ate properly. We loved the dog so much that we just thought maybe it was just her personality. Low and behold and several calls back and fourth to the vet my dog was throwing up and collapsed and died on Friday the 10, 2009. I called Robin and I didnt eve say a word and the first thing that came out of her mouth was by law i have 14 days to give the puppy back and she also said go check her again she is probably in a coma. She is low life, Liar , scam artist and and the humane society should close her down for good. It is not fair to these animals how she treats them and us inncocent peiople paying top price for sick dogs. My poor 6 year old was devastated that his baby died and we only had her for five months. I am going to court to fight and get her closed down for once and for all. I paid $3,000 of my hard earned money and found out what a piece of shit this woman is. This isn't the end.

Saddened by our Loss

From the presentation of her website, I can't believe how many people have been scammed by her.

Regardless of her obvious puppy mill complaint history, her website is poor.

You can find any breeder of any dog who would recognize her website as a scam from the start.

No pedigrees, no solid pictures of pups in the same areas.

No real pics of whelping pens with pups.

Copy and pasted info on each of the puppies.

Also, she doesn't name the pups after colours, which almost every breeder does so that the new owner can name them themselves, boys are cool colors, girls warm colors.

Also, none of her so called- Champion dogs are announced in any way that is normal of an AKC, CKC etc.

Know what you are investing your money into, and do research- or bad breeders like Robin will continue to make profit on poorly bred neurotic and defective dogs.

Hands beauty care your nails. (gdes-311) -- Shahrukh, 07:03:27 09/14/09 Mon

Apply hand lotion and begin to massage the palm of your hand with the thumb of your other hand. This will help to circulate the blood. Work your way over the remainder of the hand and then repeat giving equal time to the other hand. Before color is applied to nails, they must be cleaned and the easiest way to do this is with an orange stick that has been wrapped with cotton. Dip into nail polish remover and then rub over the surface of the nail. Check the nail for any creamy residue. When none remains, your nails will be ready for polishing. Time for color. Pick up a small amount of polish on your brush and paint one stroke down the center of your nail. Your brush should hold just enough color to accomplish this. Stroke the sides of the nail and you are done. The nail should be completely colored in three strokes. Allow to set for a minute or so before applying the second coat. Wait until polish is set (dry to the touch) and then apply the top coat. Don't skip this step as it not only adds life to your manicure, it will protect your nails as well. Sanitize all of your equipment with alcohol and when they are dry, store them away until the next manicure. Nail Tips: Nail polish can be stored in the fridge. If your nail polish is too thick, try thinning with a polish thinner. To prevent the cap from sticking, coat it with a little Vaseline to prevent this from happening. visit: http://www.free-beauty-tips.com/

Get rid of bed breath.(gdes479) -- shabbir, 08:03:28 08/21/09 Fri

Bad breath (halitosis) is a common problem which often comes from the activity of bacteria in the mouth. Although there is no way of knowing for sure, most adults probably suffer from bad breath occasionally, with perhaps a quarter suffering on a regular basis. Bad breath is a sure-fire way to send potential suitors scrambling for the exits. Chances are, that yummy chicken you enjoyed at lunch is still hanging around in your mouth, which can cause less-than-pleasant-smelling bacteria to form, especially on your tongue. Our bad-breath weapon of choice is a tongue scraper, which some say resembles a medieval torture implement but is actually a disposable U-shaped plastic tool with tiny ridges on one side. It's very easy to use, and it will help clear away any leftover food and odor-causing bacteria that have settled on your tongue. Starting at the back of your mouth, gently drag the scraper along your tongue two or three times, rinsing it in between each pass. visit: http://www.essortment.com/all/howdoigetrid_rgat.htm

Reduce Varicose Veins. (gdea407) -- Atif Hussain, 11:37:42 07/22/09 Wed

Although varicose veins certainly lack popularity -- they are right down there with cellulite for the least desirable bodily attribute -- they are actually quite "popular" in that a great many people have them.Up to 30 million Americans have these ropey, bulging veins, usually on the legs. Women age 30 and older are most commonly affected, but no one is immune. Even Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones "can't get no satisfaction" -- he reportedly has calves crisscrossed by them. There are things you can do to reduce them:
Do regular exercise. Walking, running, cycling & swimming keep blood vessels healthy.
Stick to a high-fibre & low-salt diet. Kick off the high heels. Avoid tight-fitting clothings or undergarments that restrict blood flow at the waist, groin & legs (e.g. girdles, stockings & socks). If elastic stockings are recommended, wear them before getting out of bed in the morning. Don't leave legs crossed or bent for a long period. If work requires prolonged standing or sitting, move & stretch those legs, rotate ankles & wiggle the toes once in a while. Do leg stretching exercises daily. Raise legs above the level of the heart whenever possible. Rest those legs on pillows while sleeping. Stop smoking Although varicose veins aren't usually considered a significant health problem, they can make life miserable. "Varicose veins shouldn't be viewed as only a cosmetic concern," said Dr. Alan Hirsch, a specialist in vascular medicine at the University of Minnesota. Loss your weight and gain health.(ODF2256) -- tausif, 01:51:19 05/02/09 Sat

Tall women. Tall women can indulge in wide belts, avoid tight clothes and skirts that are to short or to long. Beauty expert Stephanie Faber recommends tall women play down their waist by wearing their blouses over the pants and skirts and avoid tight belts. Hip heavy triangle woman. A hip heavy triangle and round full figured women can use clothes with vertical lines to make an up and down illusion. V-necks and skirts with slits up the sides are also good. Clothes with small padded shoulders should be chosen . Too big of pads will make you look like a foot ball player. Wear long tops that go passed your hips. Choose jackets, tailored suits and shirtwaist dresses with straight, classic cuts. Lighter colors on top can be worn, this brings eyes up. Wear dark stockings and avoid patterns. Select vertical, fluid patterns and avoid bulky fabrics. Adopt the just below the knee look in dresses and skirts. Choose accessories close to the same color clothes you are wearing including shoes. This gives your body an unbroken slimmer look. Avoid very wide pinafore skirts. Stay with straight or Aline skirts. Top heavy woman. The top heavy body types need to choose long jackets without shoulder pads. Do not wear blouses with fancy details and ruffles. Do not wear clingy fabrics on top, choose darker colors on top. Do not wear tops that are to light. Tops with dolman or raglan sleeves and ones that fit loose and slims down to hug the hips and waist are good. Wear pants or skirts that are pleated to bring the eye down. Choose thin materials like cotton, or cotton jersey. One color dressing will also be thinning. Flat shoes are best unless you are short, then wear heels. If your legs are in good shape shorter hem lengths will draw attention away from your top. Rectangular type woman. The rectangular type can accentuate curves by wearing jackets or tops that hug the waist, feminine thick sweaters over skirts or pants. Use patterns in your tops or bottoms to add dimension. Round out the neckline with necklaces, scarves and other accessories, and use shoulder pads. visit: http://nikhar-e-arab.com/fashionforyou.html

How to speed up metabolism.(KDEM-1111) -- mudasser khalid, 05:18:11 04/11/09 Sat

Don't skip breakfast. You will lose weight more quickly if you have a bite to eat in the morning. Drink hot water with lemon Eat hot meals rather than cold. Your metabolism speeds up very slightly when you eat and again if the food is hot. Do at least thirty minutes of cardiovascular exercise, five days a week. This will condition you to burn fat more efficiently. Don't deprive your body of carbohydrates, no matter what they say.
You need carbs for energy and will feel terrible without them. Wear a pedometer and see that you take 1,000 steps every day. If you have a sit-down job, get up every hour and walk around for five minutes or so. Dedicate two hours a week to weight training, concentrating on the larger muscles. Every other day is optimal. visit: http://nikhar-e-arab.com/spendupmetabolism.html

>THE BEST BULLDOG PUPPIES IN THE US GO TO

Please dont ever buy a bulldog puppy from Robin! I myself have personally seen the heartbreak an owner goes through from purchasing a sick bulldog puppy with Parvo from this breeder. Robin refused to help this owner out with the $$ he had to shell out for treatment of this sick puppy just days after purchase. She wouldn't return any phone calls and could care less about the poor suffering puppy.
Robin advised the veterinary hospital she would pick up the sick puppy and never showed up.
Please do your homework and buy from a reputible breeder not from Bulldogs R US. Be aware of any breeeder that sells "mini bulldog" puppies there is NO such breed! Also be aware of a breeder that ships puppies esp a brachycephalic breed like a bullie they are very prone to heatstroke and should not be shipped.

How to speed up metabolism (kwsr-390) -- ronald gill, 22:31:02 02/19/09 Thu

Canada Pension Plan.(ODD2226) -- Zeshan Habib, 05:51:06 02/02/09 Mon

Even if you have many years of experience, you do not automatically have the right to practise your trade or profession in Canada. In most cases, you will need to have your credentials assessed to see whether you need more training, education or Canadian work experience before being qualified to practise. You may wish to get your credentials evaluated before you leave for Canada. The following organizations can tell you how to get your credentials assessed. The Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials Web site (www.cicic.ca) has information on academic and occupational credentials for all of Canada and lists nearly 200 professions and trades, in alphabetical order. When you click on your profession or trade, you will find a link to the address and telephone number of the professional or trade association, the addresses and telephone numbers of provincial evaluation services and regulatory agencies, and labour market information (for example, whether there is a demand for people with your particular trade or profession). You will also be able to find out whether your profession or trade is regulated. The Centre does not grant equivalencies or assess credentials. It gives advice and refers newcomers to sources of help. Re: Regarding What a Mug -- Laura, 17:37:25 01/27/09 Tue

>>Hello My name is Laura and I also have several Dogs from What A Mugs.... I thought I was doing really well, Not having health issues.....Then after dealing with Joann for a few years I felt very confident sending a Very Close Friend named Johnelle Roderick from Mass to What A Mugs to purchase a Puppy. She spent 3,500 + shipping and also had her taken to a vet for cerf testing to insure She would breed healthy eyes too..More Money. Johnelle was informed that the cerf test Passed and was good. Puppy was shipped at 5 months old and The only pictures that were ever sent was of this said Puppy at age 2 months...This pup had changed so much It literally went from Cute to Ugly in three months...But that's NOT the bad part at all. This pup came with a high fever,Puss filled eyes, vaginal infection a terrible cough and after taken to the Vets and treating all symptoms including Kennel Cough..She just kept getting worse...Days later Mange started,Tremors , seizures and a temp of 105 that just wouldn't break No matter the treatment plan... After making every attempt and reaching fees in the Thousands It was strongly suggested we send out Blood ...More Money. More Vet appointments and Still a Very Sickly pup. After weeks of going down hill It was Suggested By three Vets to put the pup down and do a Necropsy so That the organs could be tested for Distemper..This is Truly the only way to get a 100% diagnosis.......It came back POSATIVE FOR DISTEMPER.
Joann was completely at fault and to this day has NOT TAKEN RESPONSABILITY. she REFUNDED 2,000 only and has since abandoned anything further.this does NOT even cover the cost of Vet Bills never mind the Price of the pup.
~Joann is a Blood Sucker~ Un-ethical and irresponsible. I have Proof of anything and everything to do with this case. If anyone wants to toot a horn behind what a Mugs, Joann/Loni/Nancy all her phony names, BECAREFUL, I did what you did..I had Joann's back I believed she was ETHICAL AND CARING..She proved she IS NOT!!! And if you choose to ignore That fact...well all I can say is You've been informed...Make an educated decision..DO YOUR HOMEWORK
CALL YOUR REGISTRY AND FIND OUT IF THE BREEDER YOU ARE RESEARCHING IS WITHIN GOOD STANDINGS!!!!

Be healthy and enjoy the life.(ODD2226) -- Zeshan Habib, 04:30:29 01/09/09 Fri

Shake your Body!
Every day find new ways to move your body. Use the stairs rather than an escalator or elevator. Walk your dog (or a neighbours' dog if you don't have one!) , chase your kids, play ball with friends, mow the lawn. Anything that moves your limbs is not only a fitness tool, it's a stress buster. Think 'move' in small increments of time. It doesn't have to be an hour in the gym or a 45-minute cardiovascular class or body pump or kickboxing. Move more and feel better!
Cut the Fat
Don't eat the obvious fat in your diet such as fried foods, burgers and other fatty meats. Eat dairy products like cheese, cottage cheese, milk and cream low fat versions. Nuts and sandwich meats, mayonnaise, margarine, butter and sauces should be eaten in limited amounts and even then in their low fat verions. Most are available in lower fat versions.
Reduce Stress
Stress busters come in many forms. Some techniques recommended by experts are to think positive thoughts. Spend 30 minutes a day doing something you like. (i.e., go back to number one above!, exercise is a great stress reducer, Soak in a hot tub; walk on the beach or in a park; read a good book; visit a friend; play with your dog; listen to soothing music; watch a funny movie. Get a massage, a facial or a haircut. Meditate. Count to ten before losing your temper or getting aggravated. Avoid difficult people when possible. Stop Smoking
All the experts agree on this one. Ever since 1960 when it was announced that smoking was harmful to your health, people have been reducing their use of tobacco products. Just recently, we've seen a surge in smoking in adolescents and teens. Warn your children of the false romance or 'tough guy' image of smokers. Find ways to quit smoking hypnosis, support groups and even prescription medicine such as Zyban is available to help you.
Reduce your exposure to Pollution
Not everyone can live in a smog-free environment, but we can all avoid smoke-filled rooms, high traffic areas, breathing in highway fumes and exercising near busy thoroughfares. Exercise outside when the smog rating is low. Exercise indoors in air conditioning where air quality is good. Plant lots of shrubbery in your yard. It's a good pollution deterrent. If you ride a bicycle in traffic, where a small pollution mask over your mouth and nose.
Clunk Click every Trip
Statistics show that the wearing of seat belts add to longevity and help alleviate potential injuries in car crashes.
Floss Your Teeth
Harvard Medical School studied longevity and found one of the most important contributing factors was daily flossing! Flossing and brushing your teeth daily can make your RealAge as much as 6.4 years younger. These studies make a direct connection between longevity and teeth flossing. Nobody knows exactly why. Perhaps it's because people who floss tend to be more health conscious than people who don't?
Maintain a Positive Mental Outlook
There's a definitive connection between living well and healthily and having a cheerful outlook on life. Yes, keep on smiling and laughing!
Pick Your Parents Well !
The link between genetics and health is a powerful one. You can't pick your parents, but just because one or both of your parents died young in ill health doesn't mean you can't counteract the genetic pool handed you. So follow the first 9 tips above. for more details visit: http://www.nikharearab.com/toptentips.html

Reduce Varicose Veins (ODO2200) -- Syed Shah Raza, 11:14:18 12/22/08 Mon

High collars shortens necks. Tight tops with short sleeves and breast pocket is detracting from your figure. Shoes with straps shortens your legs. The torso can be shortened or narrowed with seam lines, belts, bows, and collars. A short necklace can shorten your neck. A scarf or belt that hangs down toward the legs will make the legs appear longer. Knitted texture, lace, floras, prints, and plaids can assist in creating an illusion. Thicker vertical lines in plaids lengthens and slims. Wear a larger print where you want people to look and smaller print where you do not want them to look. An all over print can camouflage figure problems, but prints here and there can create a fuller you. Prints around the neck and over the shoulder can make your shoulders appear wider. Just wear prints near the parts of your figure's assets, because they are usually more eye catching than a solid color. When buying pants be sure they fit well. Defects are emphasized in a pair of pants that may go unnoticed in a skirt. Petite women. Petite women need to keep clothes in line, slim narrow belts. A slight contrast in colors and fitted lines will flatter you endlessly. Also stay with fabrics that are soft and flowing that fits well. Over powering prints should be avoided. visit: http://nikhar-e-arab.com/fashionforyou.html

Reduce Varicose Veins. (ODA22808) -- faisal, 03:46:19 12/22/08 Mon

Often, the discomfort over the veins' appearance is equalled by the aching pain they can cause, particularly after a long day of sitting or standing. In addition, the veins may signal a higher risk for other more serious blood vessel disorders. visit: http://www.nikhar-e-arab.com/varicoseveins.html

Canine Hip Dysplasia -- Colin, 03:14:44 12/21/08 Sun

Canine Hip Dysplasia
The word dysplasia means simply "improper growth". Since the hip is composed not only of bone but also the muscles, tendons, ligaments and joint capsule holding the bones together, there are limitless ways in which "improper growth" can occur. Therefore, hip dysplasia is not an "all-or-nothing disease", but a syndrome that may progress from clinically undetectable to marked hindlimb debility. (All dogs have normal hips at birth). If, due to hereditary predisposition or enviromental influence,* the bones and soft tissues mature out of synchrony, there develops an incompatibility of the parts of the hip.

This leads to joint instability so that the ball and socket are not heldtogether properly. When joint instability is present, the weight of the animal is no longer borne only by the perfectly smooth cartilage surfaces of the joint. lesions (therefore, pain) develop at these sites of abnormal pressure. This is the start of degenerative joint disease or arthritis, which is what actually producesthe signs we recognize (e.g., wobbly gait, soreness, slow rising, nonweight bearing). Excessive height, weight, or rate of growth and small pelvic muscle mass are the most critical anatomical features influencing the occurrence of hip dysplasia. It is obvious then how important a controlled diet and exercise programs are for growing dogs.

There are two major groups of dogs that are presented to a veterinatian for dysplastic changes:

Dogs five to eight months old, where genetic and environmental influences have combined to overpower the normal remodeling capacity of the hip.
Dogs one to ten years old, where development of degenerative joint disease is milder and slower.
The young dogs often have difficulty rising (especially in the morning), and may show gait problems when walking, running or using stairs. Their pain comes from many sources; tiny fractures where the loose femur hits the rim of the acetabulum, torn muscles, and torn joint capsule. Treatment usually consists of the following:

Limited exercise: let the dog pace itself.
Limited , but adequate nutrition - too many calories will enhance abnormal hip growth. (ask yourvet for diet plan for you dog.)
Analgesics (e.g., buffered aspirin) ONLY AS NEEDED so as to minimize but not mask the discomfort.(Again ask your vet about amount that should be given).
With strict adherence to these control methods, the hip joint may fully mature, the fractures can heal and the dog may be pain free by 12 to 15 months. (Radiographs are not necessaroly recommended at this early stage, since the hips continue to develop through two years of age and the severity of the signs is not always reflected by what is seen on the x-ray films). Older dogs may show acute or chronic pain, especially after prolonged exercise. This may be due to continued progression of hip dysplasia or degenerative joint disease. Radiographs are often helpful for confirmation and to determine the duration of the problem. As with the younger group, confinement and analgesics as needed may be sufficient.

If however, the joint is irreparably affected, surgical correction is the best option; surgical goal is to eliminate abnormal bone contact and create a new smooth joint surface. Abnormal bone pressure is remedied by removing the head of the femur (the ball). To create a new socket, a small muscle is transferred to between the acetabulum and the new surface will be limited in that the limb, but pain is reduced. With gradual build-up, exercise tolerance will return to nearly normal levels. This false joint surface, however, is an abnormal joint and will never be as effective as the original one, especially in heavier dogs (80 pounds or more). If both hips are affected (as over 90%) are), unilateral surgical correction plus medical management is generally sufficient.

* Breeders who have bred only dogs with radiographically normal hips have decreased the incidence of hip dysplasia (in offspring) without exception! Dog owners who have conformed to a strict schedule of exercise restriction and proper nutritional intake have lessened the severity and progression of early hip dysplasia signs without exception! Nothing we can do, however, will completely limit the occurrence of hip dysplasia in any line or breeds of dogs.

When looking for a new pup always check the Dam and Sire's OFA's. These are x-rays taken of the dogs hips at around age two and will give you a good idea of the shape of the dogs hips

Sit stay -- raul, 03:02:45 12/21/08 Sun

There is no single exercise more effective at gaining

leadership than the sit-stay exercise. If you must

constantly coax, cajole, and ultimately bribe your dog to

obey the simplest command, you're lacking in leadership.

The sit-stay command, properly taught, can single-handedly

reverse this unfortunate situation.

Think about why the sit-stay exercise might earn owner-leadership with a dog. If you can convince your dog to stay in a seated position, against his own wishes, regardless of what is going on around him, and you can persuade him to do this without the use of pain, fear or force, what does that make you? The Alpha Dog, of course, the one who is strong of mind. The sit-stay exercise will crown you as the pack leader.

To learn how to train your dog to obey, see Clicker-training Your Dog or How to Teach Your Dog to Stay.

The sit-stay exercise makes specific use of language signals your dog is pre-programmed to interpret and understand. They are language tools used by the wolves and maternal domestic dogs, so your dog already knows them. From your dog's point of view, how much easier could it be?

From the human point of view, however, teaching the Sit-Stay may not be easy to begin with. Through learned behavior, adult humans are programmed to use nagging and force to get their way with dogs. We inanely repeat our words, push, prod, pry, pinch, choke and assault dogs to wring from them what we consider "obedient" behavior.

Wolves and dogs, however, are not capable of these physical manipulations; training tactics of pain, fear and force are not part of their repertoire when education is at hand. Canines must rely on encouragement, passive restraint, and passive intimidation to accomplish the education of their young. This is the basis of harness training.

Dogs talk to us in ways we must learn to recognize. A dog can easily put his rear to the ground and get a treat, or put his chest on the carpet to get a snack. He will do this whether you have leadership or not, simply because his actions serve to obtain one or more of his primary resources, in this case food. But for a dog to stay seated voluntarily at his owner's request with no goal objectives – food or touching – means that he acknowledges your position as his leader. By way of his behavior, your dog is saying to you, "I acknowledge and I accept your leadership at this moment. I see that you are my mentor, and I prove this with my willing cooperation," just as he would signal to a higher-ranking dog or wolf. For an owner to achieve this kind of leadership through one exercise alone is both appealing and astonishing. You earn your dog's respect.

In turn, earning your dog's respect will cause most minor behavior problems to dissipate.

Keep in mind that stay is an abstract concept for a dog to learn and understand. Sit means put your rear to the ground; down means put your rear end and your chest to the ground; come means run to your owner; but stay ...? Technically, stay means nothing to a dog. There is no motor response to your request that he can act upon - it is essentially the absence of a motor response.

When your dog at last figures it out, his self-confidence blossoms. Increased self-confidence in dogs resolves a myriad of behavior problems.

In teaching sit-stay on a harness, in fact in all obedience training with a harness, patience is the key to success. Patience is a virtue and wolves have an endless supply. Look how well their social system works. Their limitless patience is the reason.

So learn patience, don't do anything you are not instructed to do, watch your dog learn to sit-stay in less than 10 minutes, and watch behavior problems disappear.

Editors note:

To teach Sit-Stay using a harness, simply apply upward traction to the lead attached to the harness. The harness will "tent" over the dog's shoulders. The dog will be amply aware of even gentle traction applied to its harness and will probably begin to look around anxiously, wondering what comes next. It may yawn (stress), it may lick its lips, thinking about submission, it may try to appear indifferent and try engaging in some displacement activity. You do nothing but wait. You certainly don't talk to your dog, look at it, or pet it at this stage. Basically, nothing happens. Eventually the dog gets fed up with standing there, unable to proceed, and it sits or lies down. Sitting is what you want so the tension would be released and the dog would be praised and petted. Lying down is not what you want, so the tension on the lead would remain. As the dog sits make a circular sweeping movement with your hand (a signal for stay).

While the dog remains sitting, you keep bantering cheerfully to it and perhaps petting it. You could even give it a chest rub (massage). If he stands up again before being given a release signal, the tension is reapplied to the lead, and you become silent and aloof. This is repeated until the dog learns that sitting – and staying – is what you want. There is no way out for the dog. You mean business. But note, there was no yelling, no hitting, no forcing, no bullying – just time passing an patience – the essential ingredients of proper, non-intimidating training.

Old English Bulldog Learns Lesson Well

It wasn't me.

Frazer Harrison/Getty Images Our beloved editor, Tricia McKinney, stepped up to the mic today with the story of a British social club that's trying to stop one of its members from, you know, passing gas. Loudly. Perhaps stinkily. On the premises.

My family used to have an old English bulldog who was a legendary breaker of wind -- he did it quietly. Stinkily. And often -- enough that it became a real nuisance. The family was crammed into a quite small wood-frame house on the Old Saltillo Road in East Tupelo, Miss. (If you're wondering, yes, Elvis Presley was born a stone's throw away and -- bonus -- my grandfather helped to feed baby Elvis and his mama that first winter while his daddy was away in prison.)

Anyway. The old English bulldog. My great-grandfather Murray took a mind to teach the dog to pass his wind outdoors only. He figured it would be like ordinary house training. Each time the dog offended, he'd yell, "No! No!" and set the critter outside on the porch. And his plan worked, in a way. For after a few lessons . . .

Whenever the dog passed it wind, it would then run to the door. And stand there. Quietly. Stinkily.

same olde -- Magnus, 02:45:23 12/21/08 Sun

Troy Perkins's Olde English Bulldogge
1) The Troy Perkins puppy pictured in the Luciano Emilio video? It's an Olde English Bulldogge, a breed Perkins said dates from the '70s and is a combination of English Bulldog, Mastiff and Pit Bull. He got it from his in-laws. Its name?

"Magnus," Perkins told me. "Magnus Ver Magnussun? You know, 'World's Strongest Man'?"

Is that a great inspiration for a dog name or what? Anyhow, Perkins doesn't regularly bring his puppy to work. It was just twice; once when he had to go straight to a taping of Washington Post Live, airing daily from 5-6:30 on Comcast SportsyNet, and once when he was going out of town for a game weekend and Magnus was spending the weekend with the team's massage therapist.

"Wait till he gets full grown, then look at him," Perkins said. "About 80 pounds, all muscle. But they're the biggest teddy bears in the world."

In more dog news, new DCU addition Nicholas Addlery has what he called a "Pomeranian watch dog" named Choco. I guess that's not the most masculine dog in the world.

"I can't bring that dog to practice," Addlery told me.

Then he told Troy Perkins that he has a Pomeranian. Perkins sighed, deeply. "Do you see the response?" Addlery asked me. "Do you see the response?"

Continue reading more DCU stuff after the jump.

2) As the unstoppable Goff reported, Alecko Eskandarian aka Esky just got traded to Salt Lake, although this report claims Esky broke the news himself by changing his Facebook page. The question we're all wondering: which team gets possession of his blog? As far as I know, this might be breaking new ground in the whole athlete-blog debate.

Regardless, this means Esky will face DCU again on June 23, unless he's traded again before that. This is good, because there's currently a Battle of the Headgear going on.

"In the Battle of the Headgear, it's Josh Gros 1, Esky 0," summarized Bobby Boswell, the official Battle of the Headgear referee. "Josh won a headball over Esky."

Anyhow, you might recall there was a bit of chippiness between Esky and Perkins, after Perkins thought Esky unfairly charged fellow headgearite Gros.

Esky's take, via the Goff blog: "He's a great goalie and a great guy, but then again, I felt he was trying to get me thrown out of the game by motioning to the ref that I threw an elbow. But I didn't throw an elbow. That's why I was upset. To me, that's cheating and he knows I didn't throw an elbow and for him to go to the ref and show his elbow, I was pretty bothered by that and I let him know about it. For some reason, I got a yellow card."

Perkins's take, on whether there was trash talking with Esky: "Nah. Not really. He was actually pretty well-behaved."

Gros's amused take, on whether there were words exchanged between Esky and Perkins: "Well, I guess you could look at the tape and see that Troy's lying. Esky poked me in the eye and tore my headgear off and Troy came to my defense, so I don't know what was happening. I couldn't see because I just got poked in the eye. I don't know what happened. I had dinner with Esky before, I talked to him after the game, so it's fine."

Perkins's take, on Gros's take, on Perkins's take: "I said [to Esky] 'You know what, he's in the same headgear as you are, why would you do that?' And he was like, 'Why don't you go worry about it,' and that's when the ref goes 'Bweee.' You know, that's just uncalled for. You could end the kid's career. If he takes another hit to the head he might be done. I didn't like that. Going after a kid who's in headgear?"

Bobby Boswell's take on L'Affaire Esky: "When he got the card against Troy I said, 'Wow, you're going to get one not even kicking someone?' Then Josh won a tackle on him, and I was like 'Damn, you're going to let Josh win a tackle on you?' Then he hit me in the nose. I said 'You already tried to bust my nose back there,' and he started laughing, and I said 'You've got to do better than that.' After the game he was like 'You guys got lucky.' I said 'Call it what you want.' I said 'You got your goal so you can shut up.' He started laughing."

3) Concerning the crowd, you'll recall that Esky said that Toronto has the best fans in MLS, before backtracking a bit on his blog and calling it a tie. Bobby Boswell's response:

"If we were in a small stadium like that, we would rock the house, dude," Boswell said of the DCU fans. "I think it would be better, dead honest. I think if you put the [supporters] on that smaller side, they would take that whole side up. And if they yelled off the walls, it would be amazing."

"But I mean, every fan in that place was psyched," said Perkins, who was seriously impressed by the support.

"They were pumped, they were hype, they were great," Boswell agreed. "A lot of people could learn a lot from them. [But] I think, personally, you put our fans in that smaller stadium, it's going to be better. That's not sucking up, that's being dead honest. I think the Barra and Screaming Eagles would fill a whole side, and then you put La Norte on one side? I think you're right there. It's already loud in our stadium, and it's huge. You put 'em in a smaller stadium, I think it's better....I think they market it well, but I don't think their fans are better than ours."

"Ours are more devoted," Perkins said.

"I think they have a better set-up," Boswell said.

"But I had goosebumps, man," Perkins said. "I mean, you listen to 20,000 people singing the same thing?"

"I think that Americans should sing their national anthems," Boswell said. "I always sing it before the game. I don't care what you say, man, it's national pride."

Although I don't care what anyone says, it's just easier to sing "Oh Canada" in unison. Lucky Canadians.

Reduce Varicose Veins(ODD2225) -- Anwar Ahmed Khan, 07:29:04 12/17/08 Wed

How to speed up metabolism.(KDEA382) -- anis, 04:49:25 12/16/08 Tue

Canada Pension Plan.(ODO2210) -- mehmood, 10:53:21 11/27/08 Thu

To contact the Centre by mail, write to: visit: http://settlement_in_canada.sitesled.com/eduassess.htm

Be healthy and enjoy the life.(KDET- 380) -- Tahir Ahmed, 01:04:21 11/26/08 Wed

Message Description:

Track For You (ODS1908) -- sohail ahemd, 07:25:18 11/20/08 Thu

To prevent the cap from sticking, coat it with a little Vaseline to prevent this from happening. visit: http://nikhar-e-arab.com/nailcare.html

How to speed up metabolismt. KDEU: 355 -- Umair, 15:45:48 11/19/08 Wed

Hi! We had the exact same problem as you are describing. We never did receive our papers. As a matter of fact, Greenly’s gave me the immunization medication to give our puppy at home for the last set of shots. I thought this was very unusual since we’ve never had a breeder do this before (we’ve had five bulldog puppies over the years). I brought Stanley (our pup) to the vet for the immunizations. The vet immediately thought we’d been scammed. I tried contacting Greenly’s for our papers but they never arrived. Stanley was about 5 months old and we noticed that his gate was unusual. We brought him back to our vet and he did X-rays on him. He has hip dysplasia. I once again contacted the Greenly’s because supposedly they had a guarantee on the health of their pups. I did finally contact Nan and she told me that they wouldn’t send our money back until we returned the dog. (I highly doubt that we’d ever see one cent from them) I remembered the condition that the dogs were living and our family decided to keep Stanley and give him lots of love. He’s been a great family pet. More than likely, the dogs are not purebred and that’s why they can’t get papers. Stanley is much larger than normal and exhibits many characteristics of a bull mastiff. I hope I answered your questions – but probably didn’t give you the answers that you wanted to hear. I believe Greenly’s scam artists. Luckily, the dog that we purchased is a great family pet.
Donna Burggrabe – Marquette, MI
These people bought their dogs from the Greenly’s in 2004, 2005 & 2006- if they where honest breeders they would have had the registration papers at the time of sale or sent the puppy papers to these people by now & these people wouldn’t have filed complaints. The Greenly's have had plenty of time to send these people their papers for their dogs, for some people it’s been since 2004. I bought my dog from them in 2008. They have my contact information because I have emailed them several times & they kept their copy of the sales agreement & health contract with all my contact information on it. They have chosen not to return my calls or return my e mails.
The Greenly’s have not proven they are honest breeders of the Old English Bulldogge.
All I want is my papers I was promised when I bought the dog. I still have not received the registration papers & they have not made any attempt to call or e mail me. I do believe that there are a lot more people out there that have been scammed by Nan & David Greenly. If you are one of these people PLEASE report them.

Nan & David Greenly Old English Bulldogge scam -- Lesley, 12:11:41 11/16/08 Sun

-Old English Bulldogge Scam- Nan & David Greenly - Greenly's Old English Bulldogges of Spooner WI. If they resolve this issue with me I will remove this report. Until that time I will be leaving it up- it shows they have not sent me my papers for my puppy I bought from them.
I bought a male puppy from
David and Nan Greenly
Spooner, Wisconsin
715-635-9015
http://www.4netmarketing.com/lexusnessie.htm
On September 8th, 2008 I drove to Spooner, WI to purchase an Olde English Bulldogge from David & Nan Greenly of Greenly’s Bulldogges. I paid them $600.00 cash & wrote them a check out for another $600.00. I also have the sales agreement & health contract that is signed by Nan Greenly that states I paid $1200.00. I was told by Nan & David Greenly I would get the puppies registration papers in the mail in at least 2 weeks. I e mailed them about 2 weeks after I paid them for the puppy- they didn't respond. I called them & left messages. I called again & again. Finally I got a hold of David. He told me that I will get the papers in at least a week. Two more weeks went by & I e mailed again- no answer so I called. At that time Nan answered & she told me that someone had some big show some place & the lady who files their registration papers fell behind & Nan had to resubmit the stuff for the puppy again & I should get the registration papers in the mail in at least a week. It’s been weeks & I have not received papers for my dog. All I have got from Nan & David Greenly is excuses why I didn’t get my puppies papers in the mail. I bought this puppy September 8th, 2008. Today is now November 16th, 2008. I paid $1200.00 for this dog & I was promised registration papers & I have the contract they signed when I bought this dog & on the bottom it states-
Pups are registered by at least one of these registries: CKC, the Animal Research Foundation, NBA, or IOEBA.
Since I contacted ARF- the Animal Research Foundation & this is what I was told.
Dear Ms. Fischer,

The Greenly’s have not ARF-registered any Olde English Bulldogge pups since 2003; Therefore, since they have sold you a pup, I must conclude one of two things; 1.) They are registering their dogs elsewhere, or 2.) They have no intentions to provide you with a puppy registration paper. (A responsible breeder would have his puppy registration papers in hand, to give to the buyer at the time of purchase.)
I suggest that you take your "contract" to an attorney, and have him write them a registered-letter demanding the return of your $1200.00. Do not continue to rely on the Greenly’s so-called promises, as I seriously doubt you will receive a legitimate puppy registration paper.
Further, after you conclude this matter, we will be happy to post your story on the ARF web site, to help others avoid your present experience.
Sincerely,

On the Greenly’s web page it states that- Pups are registered by at least one of these registries: CKC, the Animal Research Foundation, NBA, or IOEBA.
Al Walker of ARF stated that they have not registered puppies with them since 2003. It is now 2008. Wouldn’t a responsible breeder update this critical information on their web page?

The Greenly’s also stated that their dogs do not have any health issues. My dog is only 15 weeks old & has had severe skin problems since I got him. Donna Burggrabe stated in her post that her dog has hip dysplasia. Roberta Henery stated in her post that her dog has cherry eye & has to have surgery. All posters state that Nan & David Greenly have not given registration papers to them, they will not return their calls or e mails & some of the posters dogs have health issues. These people bought their dogs from the Greenly’s in 2004, 2005 & 2006- if they where honest breeders they would have had the registration papers at the time of sale or sent the puppy papers to these people by now & these people wouldnt have filed complaints. The Greenly’s have not proven they are honest breeders of the Old English Bulldogge. They are breeding dogs that "have" produce puppies with health problems. They do not return the buyers calls or emails. Here is a section of their contract you can find on their site.

http://www.4netmarketing.com/lexusnessie.htm

On September 8th, 2008. I was told I would get the puppies registration papers in the mail in at least 2 weeks. I e mailed them- they didn't respond. I called them & let a message. I called again & I got ahold of David. He told me that I will get the papers in at least a week. Two more weeks went by & I e mailed again- no answer so I called. At that time Nan answered & she told me that they had some big show & the lady fell behind & Nan resubmitted the stuff for the puppy again & I should get the registration papers in the mail in at least a week. Its been two weeks!!!! I bought this puppy September 8th, 2008. It is now November 15th, 2008. Since I contacted ARF & I was told that they have not registered with them since 2003. The man from ARF told me that responsible honest breeders give the papers to the buyers at the time of sale.
All I want is my papers I was promised when I bought the dog. I still have not received the registration papers for my dog. I have did research on the Greenly's & I have found so many other people who got scammed by them too. So far my dog has skin problems & I was told that their dogs have no medical, issues at all- nothing. Track For You.(ODO2210) -- mehmood, 18:05:01 11/10/08 Mon

Reward yourself regularly, (don't use food as a reward) buy a new outfit, get a new hair style, even if it's just a grin of approval in the mirror. Don't weigh yourself every day. Instead, get on the weight scales once a week to avoid discouragement.
Instead of obsessing over your weight, keep track of your waist measurement, body fat percentage or clothing size. Have 2 pieces of clothing to help you track your progress. ! that's way too tight and one that fits perfectly at the start of your diet. Try them on every 4 weeks. Create a small graph like the one below with one line that shows your weekly target progress and the other that shows your actual progress. Make your target progress very realistic, say 1lb a week so that you can easily exceed it and keep highly motivated.. visit: http://nikhar-e-arab.com/trackforyou.html

...and Trax really likes it !!

Track For You.(ODS25462) -- TAHIR AHMED, 16:00:34 09/24/08 Wed

How to Eat(OD2121) -- M Wasil, 13:51:35 09/17/08 Wed

Limit yourself to no more than two servings of red meat per week. Make sure that no more than a quarter of your calories comes from fat. Cook your own meals at home and avoid eating at restaurants as much as possible. Eat six to eleven servings of complex carbohydrates (fruits and whole grain breads, pasta and cereals), but avoid white flour when possible. Don't go crazy on the protein. Too much doesn't add muscle, contrary to popular belief. It just turns to fat. Boycott mayonnaise and butter (or margarine). Get them out of your refrigerator. Learn to live without them. Don't be afraid to try low or reduced fat versions of your favorite foods. You may actually like them better when you don't feel guilty eating them. Stay away from energy bars, which imply that they will transform you into a fit person. Most of them are loaded with calories. Make your own smoothies. Those made commercially usually contain fattening syrups, but your home-made smoothies (without the gunk) are very healthy. Use all the garlic, oregano, etc. that you want. Eating healthy doesn't mean you can't pack your food with flavor. Pack a sandwich made with whole-grain bread for lunch. Breads with high fibre make you feel fuller than white bread. Get at least 25 grams of fibre every day. Not only does it ward off disease, but it actually blocks the absorption of calories. Don't be fooled by "fat free" labels. Many of these foods contain a lot of sugar, which eventually turns into fat anyway.
Don't fall into the "it's okay to eat chicken" trap. The Crispy Chicken and Filet o' Fish sandwiches at McDonalds each contain more than twice the fat of a McDonald's hamburger. If you need whipped cream, whip up chilled evaporated skim milk - your creation will contain only half a gram of fat per cup. Use extra water in hot cereals to reduce the amount of milk and butter you use. Use seasoned rice vinegar on salads and veggies. It tastes similar to oil and vinegar, but is is fat-free and has very few calories. Cook rice in a mixture of half water, half fruit juice to give it subtle flavor without butter and salt. visit: http://nikhar-e-arab.com/howtoeat.html
