Subject: cushings and dr doom

Dear Leslie,

I was put on liquid prednisone 40 mg/day for my sinuses about 8 yr . ago. i never had an issue with until last nov. it kept my breathing passages open and i was able to function like a "normal" person...Last year i unknowingly saw a military dr. in kansas wwho tamoered with my pred. doseage...he brought me abruptly from 40/mg to 125 mg, changed my ora-pred to a 5% alcohol/vol version and bounced me back and forth 125 to 105 to 85 back to 105 until he had literally fried my system. i was left with cushings and addisons and diabetes and a few other hellish diseases. i have osteoperosis from long term use and recently compressed my entire spine while picking up a piece of paper off the floor..and broke L5 recently meaning i am in constant sitting pos to avoid paralysis..i am on a taper and have made my way down to 40/mg again..at 40 i do not have the energy to walk..and to pick up something as simple as a plastic bowl is like picking up a bag of cement. is this normal? walking is difficult and aedema is bad. i am on lasix and tramadol. i have 64 allergies so no narcs for me. the pain is unbearable. and the cushings is bad. i had 2 add 5 mg pred last week just 2 have energy 2 walk 2 the bathroom..and am considering adding 5 more as still cant seem to function..will adding back help 2 increase my energy level and anti inflam effect again? temp until my next dr visit? i have a month until i see my endo and functionability is bad...also the cushings he said will fade with taper...but right now i am a monster hiding at home ...nothing faded with taper...oonly got worse...the dr i saw that bounced me was military exp dr that experimented in genetics research, im not sure what else he gave me , but he kept me on 105mg too long as well as gave me kenalog shots in his office. my new endo says i am lucky 2 be alive...i tapered myself to 70 before finding new endo as my old dr kept telling me i was "incompliant" with therapy for wanting off the pred when cushings sypmt. started...i have gi bleed from pred as well adn lung issues...please help me ...any advice is most helpful...is there anything else i can do at home to ease my pain from cushings? i have peripheral neuropathy in fingers and feet, my hair and nails stopped growing, i cant tell temp changes. my face looks like a horror story cabbage patch doll...am so sad and depressed and lonely and i dont know what to do......allegra
