Whining, she pressed against the back wall, pup within her belly kicking violently to get out. Her legs folded under her and she lay framed in the soft bed, whimpering. She couldn’t act like she could take it anymore, her body was steadily and quickly growing weak. She needed her strength to get the last two pups into the world. At his words, she relaxed greatly. What a hero. She nodded, though words couldn’t be said to thank him enough. She needed rest. She needed the other pups beside her...they needed their meal. Eyes danced the distance between her and the pups...such a long way. Promising herself this was the last movement she’d make, she walked- half dragged herself to her mate’s side.
