"I am sure I shall be able to manage." Slowly standing, each step causes an intake of breath and a wince, all of his muscles stiff and sore from the night before. His leg hung limply, wavering as lifeless as a flag in a breeze as it drug nonchalantly on the rugged terrain. He lowered his head to tentively lap, but the water was still frigid from the morning temperatures. The water rolling down this throat as a jagged rock he stopped, letting the water settle into his uneasy system. His breath, still rapid, was hurridly creating puffs of steam into a clear dawn.
