In order to post to this board it is necessary to go through a two-step process. To start a new topic, use the form at the bottom of the opening page. To post to a thread, hit the "reply to this message" link at the bottom of the message in the thread to which you wish to reply.

Once you have filled out the form (Name and Subject fields are required) and the message, and hit the "send" button, you will automatically go to an edit page ("Modify/Approve Message"), where your message will be displayed in the forum fomat, as well as in the format for posting.

After reviewing your post, you can cancel it, edit it, or post it. When you are satisfied with the post, after editing - if necessary - hit the "approve" button at the bottom of that form. This will take you to a display page where your new post or reply will be displayed.

In that page, hit the "Go back to main message index" link to return to index of all messages. Your new post should appear at the top of the page (if it is a new thread) or as a new post inthe thread to which you are replying.

So, you will see your message three times - first when you write it; then when you "send" it you will have a chance to review and edit it; finally when you "approve" it you will see it on a display page.

Hope that is clear. Any problems - please feel free to e-mail me

Ned

> I found myself on the Scarborough website mainly because my husband received an invitation to his HS reunion and I thought I would check in and see what happened to SCDS. It was great fun to read all the comments.

I spent grades 9-12 at Scarborough and graduated in 1961 as Margot Sachs and went on to the University of Colorado primarily to get away and then on to Berkeley where I received a PhD in French in 1971.

I have had about four different careers-professors, college admissions officer at Brandeis and search consultant for corporate firm and now my own; both working with colleges and universities. My two- partner business is still ongoing. I live in Wellesley, MA.

When I think back about Scarborough, I think of a quirky place-fantastic Latin teacher, horrible French which I then pursued in college, tough sciences with Mr. Main and some rigorous English and Western Civ classes with Mr. Ryder. I also think of all the sports- all four seasons that I had to play and detested but we needed warm bodies. I guess it didn’t hurt in the end.

My husband Richard just retired from Brandeis where he was a Professor of Italian and Comparative Literature. We have one daughter who works at Harvard in Alumni travel and to my chagrin went to U of Colorado.

My only contact with anyone from Scarborough has been Joan Laskey Sussman who lives in Charlotte. Would love to reconnect with others.

Best,

Margot
