READ THESE DETAILS CAREFULLY SO YOU ARE NOT GETTING INVOLVED WITH SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT SUITED FOR!

So here's the deal:

1. We are now in official preproduction, which in the world of indie filmmaking means either we’re not close to filming, or we’ll be filming before you know it. PROJECTED START DATE IS OCTOBER 23, 2004; THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGES OR DELAYS!
At present, we are in the process of getting distribution for our last film, ROOM 13. This feature was shot in four weeks, with practically no budget. (i.e., paid for by William lee and his credit cards). Our advantage is Westbridge Entertainment; (WWW.Westbbridgeentertainment.com) an LA based company that works directly with us. They have connections to Blockbuster Video and other big name distribution outlets. In fact, their film “Tio’s Game” is currently on blockbuster shelves, and their film “Drive By” is now running on HBO and is also on video store shelves. In short, we don’t shoot movies to have as “show pieces” or “demos”. We shoot films with the single aim to make money and make more films. Too many Indies are “hoping” to have films seen or entering “festivals”. We’re not one of those companies. We shoot something; people who make things happen see it soon thereafter. There’s a difference between talking abut films and having great ideas, and finishing films and getting important people to watch or even consider them.
2. WILLIAM LEE has a long history in the film business. It is quite important that you read his bio and understand that this is no “hobby” or something “he thought would be fun”. Sure, we have fun on the set, but can you imagine his reaction to the upstart actor who told William he could give him “Advice on how to make the project run smoother, since William probably didn’t learn things like that, because William didn’t go to film school…” This after Lee had basically shot a feature in four weeks, while he shot, directed, wrote and even acted in the film! William is an easy guy to get along with, but please do not insult his intelligence or make yourself look foolish. He did go to film school. (Which that actor would have known had he let his ego down long enough to read the bio!) And, surprise, William Lee did earn a bachelor’s and a master’s degree—both in filmmaking? Nuff said, huh?
3. No, we cannot pay big salaries, but we are not the type of company that says “No pay, but plenty of experience and a free copy for your reel.” Here’s what we do: You are given an agreement, which stipulates two things: You gat a small stipend of $10-$20 for your help on this project, as a small token of our appreciation. Then you get an agreement for back end points, which means you become a shareholder in the film. These points range from 1-3%. So, if the film makes money, you get money like residuals. Sweet, huh?
4. IF you are going to be involved in the film, realize most shooting will be on weekends, and/or at night. WE CANNOT provide airfare, bus fare, cab fare, or hotel rooms. We make every effort to provide snacks and meals at most shoots, sometimes we’ll all share the cost (@ $2-3 each and all pitch in.) Other times, my wife will cook a catered lunch. We want to make sure you know we appreciate you. PERIOD. We are a family unit, and want to make you as comfortable as possible. For those of you who choose to come to work from other cities, again, we cannot provide lodging, but can point out bargains and deals for lodging. IF YOU ARE TRAVELING FROM OUT OF TOWN, WE WILL DO our best to group your scenes so you do not have to make repeated trips here.
5. The producer for Cinemalexzikon is Karen Gebhardt. She has worked for this company since the early 1990’s, and earned very little money doing it. She does it for the love of film, and the belief that we have something that will make us all very wealthy one day. That day is at hand. Karen can be contacted via e-mail at Kgebhar@columbus.rr.com. If you are planning to assist on the technical side, please email her. She can also be contacted at (614) 270-1553.
6. Please leave egos at home. We don’t operate on one-upmanship or sparkling debates on set about how the “scene” should play, or how “you would shoot the film”. Suggestions are fine, but this is William Lee’s film. Do not try to become the director, or you will be directed to the door. Working together is fine; trying to make your MOVIE on OUR time is not. There is a difference between helpful suggestions and smart assed covert backslaps. We’re not as touchy as this section makes us out to be, we do this to weed out the wanna-be Spielberg’s who know it all. If you’re good, we’ll give you more responsibility than you might expect.
7. The now defunct Columbus Film Consortium had some members who were less than kind with their attitude and demeanor towards William Lee. Now, they are history, and William continues to make films. There is no place for negativism in Cinema Lexzikon. If you feel you cannot make the commitment, or you harbor some vendetta or ill-will toward Mister Lee, please forget this project.
8. We shoot fast, we move quickly. People are surprised at the amount of footage we shoot in a day. We do not follow “special formats”, and our shot sheets are often rendered useless because of no shows, cancelled locations, or bad weather. So if you cannot change and adapt and have to have every single shot laid out and pre-planned and shot as written, forget it. We’ll drive you crazy. William often formulates entire scenes in his head and shoots them in minutes. That’s something film school didn’t teach. It does however keep you on your toes! We never plan results, we plan plans. You’ll get the hang of it pretty quick. Bottom line is, we get films done. Period.
9. So, the choice is yours. If you find this project of interest, please contact Karen Gebhardt or William Lee. Thank you.
