Welcome to the message board for the Poetry of Akintiunde WEB page. This discussion board was created to compliment the WEB site and to facilitate discussion of the Essays/Reviews/Poetry and other information displayed on the WEB site. It is my hope that this discussion board will facilitate a promotion and greater understanding of African American poetry and poetics through informed and civil discussion and debate. However, if I find that, instead of civil and informed discussion based on poetic theory and practice, racial bashing, hatred, or other ignorance is the predominate message put forth on the board, I will discontinue its use. I do, so as not to be misunderstood here, encourage disagreement through civil debate as a means toward a greater understanding of poetry in general and African American poetry in particular. To this end, I hope everyone finds this a fulfilling (and hopefully enlightening) atmosphere where open, civil, and informed discussion/debate is the rule. Sincerely, Akintiunde
