SleepWalk

Under this regime
in the past four years

I
acquired asthma
{clean air act}
had to go back to work
{great economy}
at a lesser job
{outsourcing}
for less wages
{it's that thriving economy}
paid more in taxes
{tax relief act}

I've shed more tears
for more people who died
I didn't know
{"I am a war president"
with a gleam in his eye}
listened to hearts break
{"there will be no casualties"}

I've been manipulated,
lied to
and controlled by fear
{"The terror alert was raised again today..."}
taken one short vacation
and after an outing,
we were turned away
by the bomb squad because
someone left a suspicious package
in the lobby
{"You are free to move about the country"}

I've bought duct tape
and stored water
{"be prepared"}

I've seen our health insurance rates double,
not once, but twice
{"There's nothing wrong with our health care system
or the insurance companies"}
for substandard health coverage
{where 3 out of 4 in my family
have been misdiagnosed and mistreated}

We've been priced out of the home
buying market
{But we LOVE our California
even if Enron did screw us}

I've been hated by a global world
{great foreign policies, Mr. B}
and even lost a British friend
{Oh! We ignorant Americans}
which was a blessing in disguise
{only because I was forced to
open my eyes;
now open your eyes}

Make sure you get out and vote on November 2nd!!
And please support our troops {and the remaining "coalition" troops}. Most of them don't want to be there any more
than we do. They're just doing their job.
