Innocence and loneliness
are really not the same.
Although at once encountering
can make them both refrain.

Experience for innocence
helps take away na�ve.
Encountering the loneliness
gives hope to make believe.

Traversing life�s anomalies
might generate some pain.
Reflecting on a could have been
may almost seem insane.

Regret applies to anything
with outcome left unchanged.
An influence upon at least
what might be rearranged.

Refrain itself has no defence
to rectify what�s past.
For outcome steals alone intent
to weave and bind then cast.
