Castles In The Sand (by the poet)

I would do my best to win you, if that I were free.
Sharing time and laughter, together you and me.

To walk life's road together, Or I lead� you take my hand.
Relax, no need to worry, I�m building castles out of sand.

Still If I had you for a moment and for a moment you were mine.
Together we would travel, perfect in design.

And if our road got bumpy, so close to you I�d stand.
Relax, no need to worry, I�m building castles out of sand.

Yet, If time had started over, in you I�d stake a claim.
Explore this life together, might even take your name.

I could be the woman oh, and you could be the man.
Relax, no need to worry, I�m building castles out of sand.

And the tides of life are always changing,
and the waves keep rolling in,
Erasing all before them, and the things that might have been.

I can sit here in reality, but with my pen in hand.
I'd rather stay awhile longer building castles in the sand.

your words can have such power
they make me deeply look and think
at what we've done and where we've gone
and how you've brought me to the brink

we're charting these new waters
and we're setting out the course
but wherever it should lead us
should find us both without remorse

now out there in the distance
I see a new and wonderous land
It appears that someone's building
great castles in the sand

sand castles they may wash away
with the coming of the sea
but if they're made of stone and brick
they may last for eternity

so as we sail to that wonderous land
we'll just have to wait and see
what there is it that lies in wait
and what then is meant to be
