The metaphor is often used
That you walk into a light
Tis one that has been so abused
That we now have lost the sight

Of what it means and what we see
When true light first meets our eyes
We cannot know just what may be
Since we�ve known so many lies.

But the light is so apparent
That we can�t then just ignore
As the past becomes transparent
We may see things that we abhor

Or the light may be when we understand
That in the future we now hold
Real trust is found in only one hand
It�s our own that we behold

So is it really to be my destiny
To place my trust in only me
Life would be then such a tragedy
And I simply cannot let that be

So just how then do we change it
That�s exactly what we must decide
But remember we can do it
We�ll be making such great strides

So I need for you to know here
And I will trust in you to see
To me your touch has been so dear
And how much you truly mean to me

Return that trust and give me yours
Regrets will not be what you feel
Trust will open up so many doors
Our lives will only then feel real
