Well, FMZ played both the union hall on the 22nd and the Ravalli county fair on the 29th, and both were some of the most dismal shows in terms of crowd participation or interest we've ever played.....how i long for the days of november at river street, when i could throw a mic out to the crowd during "suzy loves jesus" and get "TWO FINGERS WIDE!!!" back from the fourty people in the crowd that knew the lyrics. it seems alot of people just don't care about anything musical around here anymore, and I think what this scene needs is a shitload of unwarranted hype (think the first 15 minutes of "up in smoke" where chong puts on a bra to get a ride hitch-hiking....false advertisement, sure, but hey it got something done). I don't know, i'm not planning on quitting anytime soon, but playing music around here is starting to seem increasingly pointless. This sounds sentimental, narcisstic, cliche and vain (and believe me, it is) but as of lately all i really want is a bit of regular quiet time, a girlfriend i can comfortably share it with (read: a girlfriend that isn't a total fucking psychopath), and then maybe some time to get my mind straight. then again, everyone but me doesn't really care. boy i need to shut up now.
