Subject: Prologue - "Keep Your Eyes Open" (Katie and Simon)

This is my first time writing a Katie and Simon fanfiction, so hopefully it will be ok. I got the idea from a tv show that runs here in Canada.

Prologue:

20 years in the future.

A very different looking, Simon Frasier is sitting at the bar of the local nightclub in California. 21 years earlier, Simon�s life was changed forever when he came to Oakdale in search of the precious Rose of Sharon Diamond. At first that was all he wanted, but over time, Lily Snyder became what he wanted, not the diamond. Even though Lily was married there was a connection between the two of them and Simon never even thought once that he and Lily would not be together. He even married a girl (Katie Peretti, that he couldn�t even stand) to stay in the same country as Lily. Just when it seemed like he and Lily could finally be together Katie announces she�s �pregnant� (after their one nightstand) and Lily decides that it�s Holden (her husband) that she really wants. That day when Lily broke up with him he made a vow to convert back into the man that he was before. He became even more serious to keep that vow when he learned Katie was not really pregnant. By losing Lily he believed he lost everything that was worth living for. His life meant nothing if she wasn�t in it.

After learning about the fake pregnancy, Simon packed up and left Oakdale. He got a divorce from Katie and returned to Australia. Simon became very bitter and used alcohol to solve his problems. He also restarted his womanizing ways and married twice more for money. If that wasn�t bad enough, he was badly in debt and had a long line of loan sharks looking for him. A year ago Simon returned to the states, but continued to play out his life in the same way. Now here he was drowning his sorrows with Beer, feeling like his life had no meaning or direction. His life has completely fallen apart, but he doesn't even care because he doesn't have Lily.
