She waited in impatient silence for Mike to open the door, glancing over her shoulder once to make sure nothing was going on in her own apartment. She could vaguely hear the chlid's soft humming, a smile touching her lips as Taylor tried to place the happy little tune. At least she had brightened Narena's life somewhat.
Her gaze swung back to Mike's door as he opened it, and spoke her name soflty. She inhales deeply, trying to decide what to say to him. Look, I understand what went on wasn't anything you could controll. But right now, I have bigger things I have to take care of, Narena being the biggest. She slid her hands to her waist, gathering her composure and what little remained of her decency. I need to get things sorted out before I make a step in any other direction, ya know? And I can't do that if i'm constantly worrying about Krines showing up whenever I'm with you. I don't want to relive those memories when I have more important things to do. She shrugged slightly, having nothing else to say. Listen, when I get everything settled, I'll come find you, alright? She didn't bother waiting for a reply, but turned and headed back into her apartment, shutting the door once more behind her back. Witha deep breath, she stepped into the kitchen, offering Narena a bright, sunny smile. She grabbed her own plate, and settled herself in the chair opposite the girl. Taking a bite, she chewed thoughtfully, then turned her attention to Narena. So Kiddo... How about you and I do some shopping today? If the child wanted to stay with her, then Taylor was going to have to start acting like a parent... and the first thing on that long list was to get Narena some clothes.
