The door wasn't locked, it was never locked. He pushed the door open, half stumbling inside and veering towards the back room. He was so set on just getting to the fridge and feeding, he didn't think to tell Cat to stay out. Not that Des would mind, but in his right mind he never would have subjected her to watching him feed.
With what self control he had left, he feeds from the blood bag tube instead of tearing it open and making a mess. He kept his back to the doorway, his body blocking the sight from Cat if she had followed him all the way in. Two blood bags and he was feeling much better, though it took a third bag to completely ease the itch under his skin that came with hunger.
He gives a heavy shudder as he places the empty bags into the biohazard trash can. Des having connections with several nurses did help those cursed who did not wish to kill. Taking care that his face was clean and his clothes free of bloody specks, he turned and went to Cat. He stopped a few feet from her however, unwilling to touch her untill he'd told her this horrid secret.
He was still pale and still chill to the touch, but nowhere near the icy creature he'd been before. His eyes where grey but unnatural yellow flecks rimmed the iris. He'd always shown his emotions in his eyes, now there was just a color to match the obvious mood. He feared she would reject him, claiming he was a monster... Hell, who was he kidding? He was a monster!
"Cat... I'm not the same as.. when we where together...." His voice was a bit hoarse, as if it'd been used too much or not enough. There was a long pause as he attempted to find the words "You'v lived here a long time....You've seen what calls this town home....Not long before I saw you last, I.... was bitten.. by a vampire...... " His eyes where down cast as he uttered his secret, his damnation. He didn't want to see the look on her face.... the horror, the anger... He doubted there would be sorrow, that would come much, much later.
(make up for being late?)
