The long-awaited return of Rik Emmett to Delaware is drawing near. On June 28th, Rik Emmett returns after a three-year absence. Rik Emmett, a Toronto, Canada native, has been spoken of positively in the musical circles for years. “I’m amazed at what a great all-around musician he is. On top of that, he sings so well. What’s in the Canadian water?” – Steve Morse, guitarist, Dixie Dregs, Deep Purple.
Rik brings with him, to his concerts, a unique sense of humor. This humor is exposed when he tells of how the songs were written and inspired. This inspiration is drawn on through many years of living life to the fullest. He describes his instrumental CD’s tracks as: * smoldering passion of Latin grooves OR * Intimate, memorable melodies AND * the echoes and inspiration of hereditary and tradition. These tunes invoke deep feelings in his audiences. Some people are visibly moved from his emotional songs.
Rik Emmett is best known for his work with the progressive rock band Triumph. In September of 1975, he joined the trio. This “union of three” lasted until 1988. Rik went solo, but as one of the original members of Triumph, he was inducted into the Canadian Rock Hall of Fame in 1993.
Rik’s career has seen many solo albums. These recordings are: Absolutely (1990), Ipso Facto (1992), Spiral Notebook (1995), Ten Invitations from the Mistress of Mr. E (1997), Swing Shift (1997), Raw Quartet (1999), The Spirit of Christmas (1999), Rik Emmett – Live at BERKLEE (2000), Best of Rik Emmett (2002), Handiwork (2002). Between recordings and tours he has given of his time and energies selflessly towards many benefits and charities.
His concert at the Baby Grand will be his first for Wilmington. The elegant setting of the Baby Grand compliments the amazing artistic abilities of Mr. Emmett. The 300-seat venue has no obstructed views. Every seat will be amazing and intimate. The ticket prices are $35.00 for any seat. But, if you want to meet the artist, the price is $45.00. Tickets are only purchased through the Baby Grand Box Office directly, 302-652-5577 or 800-37-GRAND.
