Hi Carolyn,
You should be able to get good developmental information from the children's pediatrician. The doctor can also help you with information about what to do to help the triplet that is falling behind developmentally, and refer you to specialists.
I definitely think you should gather some information and some suggestions for solutions, and then discuss this with the parents. Your concern and caring for their children as individuals will come through when you present the specific things you have noted.
Working with the one especially could be a difficult goal for you to achieve while you daily care for all three, so outside help with therapists may be a good idea.
All children develop at their own pace; with triplets you will always be comparing them with each other, instead of taking them one by one on their own cognizance.

If you wan to get some more info on developement milestone time tables before you talk to them, the web sit <babycenter.com> has some good articles on warning signs to watch for in each area of developement (sorry, I don't remeber exactly where on the site to find them, but it's a pretty easy site to search). You could print out some of these for them to read (unless you think they're too scary for them). There are also those guides of milestones in the good ole "What to Excpect the First Year/Toddler Years" books at the beginning of each chapter, that list "Things your baby should be/probably/may be doing this month". I think it's fairly common w/ mutiples fo rone to be a bi tbehind developementally. (Tanya Sekowicz, who posts on this messsage bosrd, is an expert on muttilples). The more info you have, the more comfortable you'll be broaching this subject w/ the parents. It's a tough one. Good luck.

Also, no matter where they live or their income level, the child can get a free evaluation & therapy if needed (speech, physical or occupational) through the local Early Intervention program. Any kid 0-3 yrs is eligable. Their pediatrician should be able to hook them up with this program, or you could try calling the state Health Dept or the social work dept of a local childrens' hospital. (Parents always seem very pleased & reassured wnen I give them any sort of pamphlet or printed material).

Your family is very lucky to have such a smart Nanny who's on the ball enough to detect a developement lag. (Not to mention one who can even *handle* TRIPLETS & keep her sanity intact!)
