I was just wondering how much you all would think a nanny that works 25-30 hours a week should get paid. Duties include:

*running errands: daily grocery shopping to often more then one store, drycleaning, household goods and everyday needs for a family
*cooking dinner and preparing snacks: for family of four, often preparing two meals so that a child may eat a balanced meal because her activity schedule prevents her from being able to eat with the family
*driving children (two or more (carpooling duties): the two girls do gymnastics (4 days a week), cheerleading (three), soccer (two), church youth (1), softball (2), and play dates (at least 3 per wk). various appointments average 2 different activities a day (often more)
*housework: one load of laundry a wk, washing dishes, keeping kitchen spotless, and light pickup around the house.
*helping kids with homework (often playing a large part in the completion of school projects)
*planning activities to keep children busy AT ALL TIMES
*taking care of two dogs (one puppy that is not house trained yet)
*in general: keeping the house in tact (fixing computers, which has been an on going process of at least 3 hours a week spent on the phone with computer operators and arranging other household care necessities)

average: 250 miles driven per week with at least an hour on the road each day (this excludes transportation to and from work.)

I am just curious as to whether or not I am getting paid enough and what full time nannies with duties similar to mine get paid. I currently recieve 16.50 an hour plus five dollars a day for gas. Thier last nanny of five years was paid 16 an hour and did NOT have the same number of responsiblities (she couldn't cook, kids were not as active, could not help with homework, and the dog was not present). I recieved a 50 cent raise after I begged last year and it has been a year and a half now that I have worked with them. the job is very stressfull especially since I am a full time college student and I am considering quitting. what should I do? her list of job duties seems to grow daily!!
(and I do not recieve paid vacations)
thanks
t.
