A nanny will quickly lose her effectiveness if she can't enforce the discipline. I suggest she talk to the parents, asking them to back her up by increasing the consequences significantly when the child refuses to do what the nanny says. Every child has a currency, something that is important to them. Find out what this child's is and take that away when she misbehaves. For example, if child refuses to go to her room for 15 mins for nanny, when the parents get home she must stay in her room for half an hour or an hour. Or it may be a favorite toy or DVD, etc. Nanny may take it away for the day and parents will take it away for a week.
