Well i have been a nanny since i was 19, my first job was with a family with 3 children oldest of which was 8 and could be very demanding at times, she hadn't long ago gone through her parents splitting up and they had also moved house just as i started to 80ish miles away from her dad which all this obviously made her very demanding at times, BUT, as a nanny, we should be able to dicipline a child without resorting to calling the parents for help, I would not have much confidence in a nanny who needed to do this, and it would most likely lesson the confidence the parents have on him/her aswell.
