Hi Sarah,
Although I do believe it makes a difference in the location where you nanny, I don't think you are making what you are worth. I nanny in a suburb of Chicago and I make $500 for 30 hours a week with twin 2 year olds and I am only responsible for cleaning up whatever messes we make throughout the day. If you are providing both the nannying and housekeeping I think you should ask for a review if you have been there for a year and ask for a raise in pay or if that is not agreeable, less responsibility as far as the housekeeping. I'm guessing they hired you as a nanny and included a few chores and more just continued to be added on. If the money is more of an issue, let them know. If they expect your role to be Superwoman, they should pay you Superwoman wages.
