I've been wearing headgear since last august (so almost a year). I've never worn it in front of someone, so only at night or when i'm alone in my room studying. My ortho keeps telling me that i'm doing a great job. It's really no big deal to wear it at night. So if your ortho says you might have to wear it for a longer time if you wear it less hours a day, I think that's a good deal. I wouldn't mind wearing it a few months longer if that meant I didn't have to go out with it.
Good luck
Sophie
