I had one that was just killing me and driving me nuts.. my Ortho took a look and she said she couldn't trim it as it was quite short and required to be there to assist in moving the teeth - plus if she cut it, it would make it 'sharper'. So she took a small amount of glue that is used to glue the brackets to the teeth, and created a small ball around the end of the wire. She dried it as they do when a bracket is applied, and it worked amazingly... I have a tiny white dot at the end of my wire and I'm pain free!
