Some riders i can think of from the top of my head are:
->Sven Nys, mainly cyclo-cross but seems to be putting more focus on road racing every season (rode P-R the last 2 years if i'm not mistaking)
->Filip Meirhaeghe, BMX rider (silver medal on last olympics, and winner of the world cup last year), from time to time competes in track. I think he also competed in some road races, but i'm not very sure of that.
->Johan Museeuw, started his career as a cyclo-crosser, then switch to road (duh :) ) but still prepared his season by doing some crosses during winter. He grew out of that habit in the last few years, but there are currently indications that Museeuw will be competing in a few cyclo-crosses in the near future. He would also like to compete at the national championships if possible. (semi-quoted from him)
->Also, there are some exhibition track competitions, like the "Omnium der snelste pedalen" (Omnium of the fastest pedals), which invite a whole list of reputed road racers to come and compete on track. Some years ago there was an edition which featured Zabel, Steels, VdB, Dekker, Blijlevens and Meirhaeghe for example...nice list aye?
Blah...and ofcourse, in the old days riders used to compete an entire season in cyclo-cross or track ànd on top of that an entire road season. For example, Sercu and Van steenberghen were renowend for their track capabilities, but were respected road racers as well. Roger De Vlaeminck was a cyclo-crosser at the core, riding a full season in the winter, considering road more as a secondary choice than the other way around. No wonder he won 4 P-R's with that basis.:)
