Yes, in the USSR in 70s it was considered as huge. The average men's height at the time was 1.70 and the average shoesize 41. But now situation changed a bit and even girls have a shoesize 40-41 and the height 180.

The interview(I listened only the latest part of the latest one) seemed me boring, I listened it to check the article. As auding has always been my weakest place I couldn't hear some words clearly, but didn't listen to it again. Maybe u will be more lucky.
