Suppose the west is more aware of the evil character of the Russian regime. Would that change much in Russia? Look what happened with Robert Mugabe, nations around the world call for him to be ousted but he is still in power. Kasparov says that the west provides the Putin regime with democratic credentials but does it matter? In this documentary of Michael Palin about Russia it�s striking to see how many Russians don�t they care about democracy at all. In the past you could blame the tight control of the government but nowadays you have access to the internet, don't you. You�d better give up hope that western opinion can change anything in Russia.
