I've looked at all the sites and they are all nice. I'd like a ski in/ski out, but I understand that costs more. I like the idea of Breck for the bars, but I get pretty fucking tired from skiing all day.

I know these people are going: Keith, Matt, Matt's friend, Sarah, Chi, Jill, Paul, Merrick (she said she was), Rick (I think), Jake (I think), Kruti (I think).

I know we can contact all of these people, so let's move on this issue before we lose options. Everyone check out this places listed, research yourself, do something. Give me an hour, anytime, sober or drunk.

And pick a place! Give a reason or two why, so I can try to persuade a dissenter. And Rick, get those Columbians to drop a line here.

Okay, that's my pep talk. If we can get locked into a place before Thanksgiving I think that would be good. Hope everyone is having a great day! I have a terrible case of senioritis and I still have the rest of this semester and spring to go!

I don't know if this will help or hurt the whole process, but I too don't really care where we stay. They all seem to work. So, instead of naming a particular one, I'll just list the features I am looking for.

First - Resort: I think Breck would be best. Even if we only go out one night, it would still be nice to have the option of some bars close by. Plus, the whole town is filled with stoners (and I have heard there are 12 smoke shacks out in the trees off their runs), so no one will mind much what we do. Lift tickets look to run $171 for 3 days and $228 for 4 days at Keystone/Breck/A-Basin. These are the PEAKS discounted prices from the breck website, and probably represent the most we would pay. They all also give us one day at Vail/beaver Creek if anyone is interested.

Ski-in/Ski-out - I would prefer a ski-in/ski-out place if at all possible. If they are just completely unaffordable, then we should take what is closest to the lifts and definately on the bus system. Driving was more of a hassle last year than being on the bus.

Outdoor hot tub - personally, I like these more than the indoor ones. Something about being in a hot tub next to a pile of snow. Sauna is nice as well, but as we all probably know, one of us has a problem controlling himself in a sauna.

These are the things I care about. It looks like we are planning for 10-12, unless there are others planning to go we don't know about. Sophie won't care which place we choose, so whatever we decide will be fine. I too have major senioritis, and it wasn't helped by the fact I realizded today that I have one month from Saturday until I graduate. Fuckin amazing. Let me know what you all decide, and have fun in BS on thanksgiving.

I ran into Merrick yesterday and she says she will go on the ski trip. I told her that it was a legally binding agreement and that if she backed out we had the right to sue her into oblivion, and she seemed cool with that. So either way its a win-win situation for us.

Pauly boy also says he'll go. There are a couple of our roomates who keep saying they want to go as well, but for now i'll have to keep them in the maybe category until they decide for sure.

And of course, I'll be there.

Basically, we are looking to go on vacation. We are poor, so I don't think we are going to ski. We would like to go to a spa instead. So, we basically want a place where

1. We can have loud parties and smoke green and not bother people enough to get the cops called

2. We like to sit in hot tubs (we heard indoor ones make you sick anyway)

3. We like to look around at aestetically pleasing things. We are becoming increasingly aware of how everything around us must be pretty. Hey, we are going on vacation... why not escape the ugliness of dorm rooms and cheap apartments? Of course, prettiness is secondary to cost. As much as we like to dream, we are still poor.

4. Spa nearby is a plus for us, but we can drive.

5. Bars are fun. Are there any dyke bars in Breckenridge or is it frat boy white hat madness? Don't worry. We will check into this one.

6. We can have lots of sex in a big bed and then get a massage the next day.

So basically, we will be happy with anything that isn't ugly or inhabited by the police.

I went through the stuff I have and came up with two places we should look into more. I am convinced there are better places, but this is what I have.

Anyway, this place is 6 miles to the slopes which is the bad part. We could ask him more about the logistics of getting to the slopes before we decide on this one.
Cost: $350 per night plus $150 cleaning fee = $1200/9 (not counting Jake or Kruti or Craig) = 133.34

4 wheel drive is necessary for their driveway and they say 2 cars max. I don't know what (if anything) this means to us.
This one also has a lot of beds. I think if I broke it down right all the boys can get their own beds. This is with 12 people going.
Master Bedroom: 2 people (King)
Bedroom 2: 2 people (Queen)
Bedroom 3: 4 People (Queen, Double, Twin)
Bonus Room: 3 People (Queen Futon, 2 Twin)
Living Room: 1 Person (Queen Fold Out Couch)
I think the second one is better as far as convenience, but the other one seems nicer overall and cheaper (because it is further away).

I contacted the second one since its a ski in ski out. To me that shit matters. I don't want to lug shit around. I like the private hot tub. I got ahold of the people. I like the price. It's available. I think I might make the deal.

QUESTION -- I will probably need some degree of the money up front to secure the place. Where do we stand in the green department and I'm not talking weed? I don't mind putting the security deposit on a credit card, I'm sure I can get the parents to do that, but it's 450 a night. 3 nights or four? Who's driving?

Meeting at my house, with the new furniture my mom bought b/c she thought we'd never trash downstairs again, think again OCD Becky! As much info as everyone can reply with would be outstanding!

Good work...

I have no money and neither does Chisa, but I get paid next week, so I might have some to contribute by Thanksgiving.

I don't really care about the number of nights, but if we stay 3 it might be easier for people to take two days to drive out instead of Paul and Matt's marathon driving.

I don't want to drive mostly because I don't want to responsible for a car, but if someone else would like to pretend they belong to my parents and promise to take care of their car, I am sure they would let us take it. Or, I will have my car, which would kind of be better for us to take since it gets better gas mileage.

We could spend three nights there, but ski four nights. B/c hotels cost like 70 a night. We could drive out real close one day, hotel in Georgetown like last year, go skiing the next day and have the place that day and night. And on our fourth day of skiing would be our check out day, so we'd have to load up the cars, but we could stay at a hotel a few hours outside breck, then drive back the following day instead of through the night.

Do y'all like that plan?
So thinking that way everyone would have to pay $1350 divided by how many people come, plus thirty bucks or so, for two nights in hotels.

The second place is owned by Brian Wilson. That's a good enough reason for me. The reincarnated spirit of the genius that brought us the Beach Boys.

Rick, I got bored today in class and decided to buy a bar in Columbia. How many bars do y'all have? What's the best drink deal? How much do most students drop? Give me some logistics.

The second one looks nice but as Martin Lawerence would say "DAMN JENNA!". $450 a night is steep and I think it would suck to spend all that time driving just for three nights skiing. As for the security deposit, I might be able to help a little, depending on if my moron boss will ever figure out how to electronically transfer money into my bank account. Thank god for technology! And for the driving situation, I can't take my truck becasue it's a gas hog and splitting the cost between two people would probably melt my credit card. But, i'm more than willing to pretend like i'm responsible enough to not destroy your parents vehicle Sarah.

Anyways, hope to see you guys real soon. Tell Becky i've been waiting to spill beer all over her knew furniture and i'm not taking no for an answer!

Okay..I want to go....but I'm sorta missing on some of the details....like when this trip exactly is. I have school for all of January (Family Medicine :( . If I know when we will be going..exactly and coming back...I can see if I can arrange my schedule accordingly. Don't care where we stay--have full faith that you will all pick the best. Just need to know--what the price will be. So...let me know. Oh...I'm leaving to go home (michigan) on Wednesday morning..so if anybody wants to hang out before that on Tues night--call me.
