I was listening to Al Franken yesterday and he was referencing this study done by the University of Maryland's political somthing or other called PIPA.

Anyway, it makes you feel good about your position because it clearly outlines Bush supporters as idiots suffering from cognitive dissonance. That's my word of the week.

For a research report it's very easy to read. Lots of graphs!

PIPA also has a study showing that Fox News isn't just biased. Their viewers actually are misinformed. They believe things that just haven't happened, like that the U.S. found WMDs in Iraq after the invasion and a real link between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda.

Have you seen this documentary? It's really entertaining, and the intent is to sue Fox so they can no longer claim to be fair and balanced.

The main point, that Fox viewers aren't just misinformed, it asserts that the more you watch the more stupid you become. But, hey at least Rupert Murdoch gave us the Simpsons.

If anyone outside NY wants a copy of the anti-fox DVD, I will make you a copy as a sort of civic duty. It does a pretty good, well-laid out, job of showing how bad of a station it is. Another, simplier and smaller study, also tested the viewers of several news shows, including The Daily Show. The Daily Show viewers were almost twice as likely to know what really happened in a few keys issues, like Iraq WMDs etc. But, the movie is def worth a watch.
