Mga Kadugo,

Di man ako nakakapagsulat ng napakatagal nang panahon, kayong lahat ay nasa puso at isip lagi.

Allow me to share with you all our pastor brother's Christmas message. May it resonate with you as it does with me.......

Someone made an observation that Christmas Eve worship in Christian churches ends in either of two ways: the soft singing of "Silent Night" when the candles are extinguished and people depart into the darkness of the night in silence; or the church's lights are turned on and the people sing joyously the Christmas carol "Joy to the World, the Lord Has Come!"

In either way prayers are expressed in joyful gratitude for the coming of the Christ who was born in a manger long time ago and continues to come into our lives and our relationships even today.

Christ comes in the darkness of our nights or in the midst of the storms or in the experiences of brokenness and despair. But Christ comes also in moments of profound insights when all the broken pieces of our lives are put together and we are privileged to have a glimpse of meaning and wholeness.

Whether it be in the darkness of the night or in the light of a new dawn, the invitation of the Christmas story is to pray, to have a "holy conversation" with God and with each other, because "prayer is our response to the God who has already and has forever spoken to us. Prayer is our response to the comfort, healing and transformation forever offered to all humanity."

Let us pray that the coming year may offer us the opportunity to seek God in the many places God can be found, even the places we least expect. It is our prayer that the seeds of love and compassion that God has already dropped into the "soil of our hearts and into the ground of our being" may take root and grow as we help "make gentle this broken and hurting world and tame its savagery.

Let us pray that in the midst of the suffering that we experience and see around us, we may have the courage and the wisdom to place our hurts in the hands of God, who, through the coming of the Christ tells us that God is suffering for us and with us and that absolutely nothing in our lives and in our world lies outside the realm of God's love and grace.

Let us pray that genuine hope would sustain us through the coming year. Hope is the growing edge! Let us look to that growing edge this Christmas.

Let us pray for each other and our loved ones. "The possibilities of prayer runs parallel with the promises of God."

May your Christmas, indeed, be Merry and your New Year Happy!

Nandito lang ako,

Aie
