Dear All,

I break my long silence for a sad news. Peps just called to tell me that her only niece, 12 years old, drowned this afternoon. Niece was with friends for a picnic in a Macarang river. She's trying hard to stay calm to be able to attend to all the arrangements. She called from a funeral parlor in Camiling.

She requests everyone to hold them close in our circle of love and prayer. Let us pray with them for much needed strength and comfort.

I just got back from an evaluation and planning workshop in Pansol, Los Banos. Through text messages with Annie and Atilinda yesterday, we postponed the scheduled Foundation officers' meeting in San Nicolas tomorrow to Feb 5. BTW, Fred now has a wheelchair (I undertood from Ati's text that it's a gift from Atty. Popoy of Ati) so he should be able to move around more.

I am ready to update you all this weekend. Masapul laeng nga maturogak bassit tonight. Was able to get in touch with Nick (kahit sa boses!) last week (Dave, thank you for sending Nick's boardroom message through my e-mail, diak pay makabayag nga ag check ditoy boardroom). Went to see Manang Puring at Don and Dainty's new place near St. Luke's some days ago (diak pay malagip no ania nga aldawen!) Manang Puring got her US visa, so watch out for her US trip in March.

Nick, if we don't get to see each other this time... praying for your safe passage back to the US
