SAYING GOODBYE TO A FRIEND

I know that you don�t like poetry
but that�s how I express wot I feel inside
You�ve ended the friendship we had
yes times are tough but why do you hide??

I respect the fact that you need time
to let go of the love we once had
and you don�t know how sorry I am
to know that I�ve made you feel so sad

but to never talk again is unthinkable
to never know how you are is unheard of
all because of talking to an old friend
because of this you throw away a friendship love??

Still if this is the way you want it
then who am I to stand in your way
though don�t you dare say I don�t care
for I�ll most likely think of you every day

I�ll miss you and that�s no lie
and I�ll always wonder how you are
just remember this is your decision
and I�ll always be here even if distance is far

You say you won�t go back on your word
but does everything come down to your pride
who cares if you change your mind
you need to make sure you�re happy inside

I just wanted to tell you
just before you say good-bye
even though I know you already have
but don�t ever say I didn�t try

I fought every nite to keep your friendship
while people around me saw the effect
you think that I don�t even care
but each nite, bit by bit, my heart you did disect

you think that each nite my words were lies
yes I worry about what what others think too
but you didn�t know whenever I spoke to Maria
I said how much I was looking forward to seeing you

Though none of that matters now
cause you�ve made up your mind
and just because you siad you won�t go back on your word
you�re separating and leaving all our memories behind

So here I say a sad good bye
though you will never realise this
that I always cared so much for you
and your friendship I�ll truly miss

Should you need a friend though
remember I�m here for you
if you need to know someone cares
just pick up the phone that is all you have to do.
