HAPPINESS IS PAIN

When the birds are singing outside
but you wish that they would go
then maybe you should go and hide
at a place where your feelings can show

Where nobody's likely to find you
and silence is there all the time
maybe that's all you need to do
instead of committing all that crime

but sometimes you need a little more
like somebody to love and hold
someone who'll never close their door
or leave you standing out in the cold

do you find that's when it's 40 degrees
that u don't even feel the heat
do you ever feel the chill of the breeze
when your walking down the street

Have you always got a smile on your face
always happy and talking to friends
or are you always in the rat race
thinking this pain never ends

People say cheer up you've got to try
try to have a little faith, try to have a little fun
they say put in a little effort and you'll get through
but if i give that little extra, still the war won't be won
oh you don't know how i wish i could die.

each new day brings more of the pain
and i've got two voices in my head
one telling me to try again
and the other saying i want to be dead

My heart is saying i can't handle this
can't u see i'm breaking in half
can't you give me my only wish
please, i'm finding it harder to laugh

I've tried before but i'll try again
it's all getting to much to take
cause i feel the pressure mounting on my brain
and soon my heart is going to break
