Subject: ON THE MOUNTAIN TOP - 23/08/01

On A Mountain Top

He�d driven her to a Mountain Top.
Under the stars he hugged her tight
Just the two of them in each others arms
It was perfect and the most romantic sight

They hadn�t known each other for very long
But both know the love will last forever
He tells her of his endless love for her
And promises they�ll always be together.

She knows he�s the one she wants to marry
And he tells her that oneday she�ll be his bride
The money is short but their love is strong
And she promises she�ll always stand by his side

Through thick and thin she�ll love him true
And when all his hope has disappeared
She�ll reach out her hand for him to take
And she�ll hold him tight til his tears have cleared

Tonight there�s not another soul in the world
The night is perfect as she lies in his arms
Up on the mountain top together in love
And tackling all of life�s cruel demands

Suddenly he rises to his feet pulling her up
He turns to her, looking deep in her eyes
He kneels down and gently takes her hand
He promises he�ll love her until the day he dies

Then produces a ring saying Will you marry me?
The mountain goes silent waiting for her answer
It�s like the whole world has stopped in suspence
Even the night animals do not dare to stir

She is lost for words not knowing what to say
He�d asked her before but never like this
He�d never had the ring to make it official
She pulls him from his knees, they embrace in a kiss

So gentle and perfect, they become as one
She turns to him, looking into his eyes deep
Searching for the words to express her love
Then finally manages a yes as she starts to weep.

He wipes the tears away from her eyes
Kisses her gently then positions the ring
Holds her so tight in his arms and whispers
"you are my life, you are my everything"
