Subject: A review of Hartman and Booms

First, I'm a big fan of the old show. Perfect chemistry, liked both perspectives. When Kiley was on a few weeks ago, I thought it was a good, decent show. Better than most of the other Hartman co-host tryouts. I'm still not sure how Fox would fire a guy but then give him a tryout on another Fox show. That goes for Booms too (although it wasn't an "official" firing, but still a curious move by Fox).

Booms with Hartman is by far the most daring. Chuck is Chuck, and I'm not sure Hartman is handling it as well as Kiley did. Basically Booms takes 80% of the airtime, interrupting incessantly. I'm sure Hartman is thinking that Booms would basically take over the show, as opposed to being the co-host (sorta like when Kobe wanted to take over the team from Shaq, but had to accept that he was the 2nd option). That might be an issue if Booms got the gig.

The other thing is, it's interesting to have so much strong anti-Laker talk on a local sports show in the middle of Laker town. Aren't local hosts usually homers? It might be something new, but I wonder how that will fly. Especially when the local team wins, usually the local shows are part of the parade. Booms might be a downer if the Lakers 4-peat. Would the local show go for that? Does Hartman want the challenge of sharing airtime with Chuck?...

Who knows. But it's been entertaining to say the least.
