On his own, Chuck Booms was at best a mediocre sports talkshow host. That much was evident whenever Kevin Kiley was off and Booms had to hold down the show on his own or team with a guest host. Kiley's weakness as a host was also exposed when Booms got fired.

The magical thing about the Kiley & Booms show was the fact that, as a team, these guys were ten times better than they were apart. As a duo they approached greatness. It is no accident that no other radio network or independent radio station has any interest in signing Kiley or Booms as solo talent.
