Sports radio hasn't been the same for me since 12/6/02. I was a loyal listener to the Kiley and Booms show. If I was in my office at 2:00 in the afternoon I turned my radio on just to listen to the show. I was late turning the radio on Monday 12/10 and missed most of the show but found that Chuck was gone on my drive home that evening. I will tell you that I never enjoyed the show as much if either Chuck or Kevin weren't on for a day. The magic of the show was the two of them together. They had great chemistry. Chuck always loved the conspiracy theory. I think that Premire participated in a conspiracy theory here. I don't think that they had the money to keep both talents. They offered Kiley (the family man) a contract because he needs the job with kids in college and other obligations. I'm not saying that Chuck doesn't have obligations but this is my theory. Premire doesn't offer Chuck a contract and splits up the show. Premire can't pony up the cash for both Kevin & Chuck and doesn't want a successful show to go to another network. So they create irreconcilable differences between Kevin and Chuck and now both of them are off the air. Premire gets rid of the expense and destroys the show. This seem to be the only explanation to this entire situation. We the fans of the show are paying the price. I have heard some of Chuck's comments about Kiley after 12/10. I wish he could put those feeling aside and call Kevin now. Since they are both out of jobs, it would be nice if they could re-unite. Don't let Premire do this. I would like to put the two of them (Chuck & Kevin) in a room, have them work out their differences and get the show back on the air. The show was never as good on the days when either of them were on vacation. The magic and chemistry was always at its best when they were on together. Kevin was a great straight man to Chuck's amazing comic talent. It was a unique show and I miss it. I have stopped listening to the Premire station and have switched over to ESPN radio. I will not listen to a network that treats its listeners so poorly.
